I remembered what mom and dad said to me that day, "Thyri, you have to protect your sister okay?" mom told me "I know mommy! I'll always protect Ida!" she smiled at me, dad did the same, "We're gonna be home soon sweetie, so wait for us, okay?" "Okay!". They hugged me. They head to the train, I couldn't help, I cried.

They waved at me and Idalina as they entered in the locomotive full of other parents, other couples, others adults, who were forced to join the kingdom's army, to fight in the war of FΛПƬΉΛƧYΛ.

Our kingdom, ΉΛƧYΛ, has been attacked by the neighborhood kingdom of ΣЦЯΉӨPΛ, soon, that attacks pulled the trigger of the worst war of the last centuries, and it was called FΛПƬΉΛƧYΛ. I didn't know the reason why all those attacks started, anyone knew it. But most of the adults, the ones that were able to fight, had to register in the army.

"Thyri, when will mom and dad come back?" Ida asked me "I don't know...but it will be soon" "Really?" "Yeah, of course! They will be here soon and we'll be all together again!" she smiled at me, still with tears falling off her eyes, as the train our parents were in disappeared on the horizon.

"Idalina Urd! Come here right now!" I screamed trying to get my little sister's attention, as she didn't respond to me at the ten times I screamed her name "What is it Thyri! I told you I'm playing in the garden!" "And I already told you, dinner is ready, now come here and eat!" "Fine!" she said coming to the table "Thanks for the meal!".

We eat in silence. Usually, we have things to tell each other, about school or something that is on our minds. But lately, we sit down and eat in silence, with just the sound of the cutlery hitting the plate accidentally. It's been strange like this, seeing my seven-year-old little sister being this...quiet. She was always so loud and excited about everything.

"Hey Ida" "Huh?" she didn't look at me "I-It's something wrong?" "No...not at all. Why do you ask?" I took a deep breath "You've been so quiet lately, and you don't even talk to me anymore".

The silence came again. This time with pressure, like what I said was wrong. "Thyri" This time, she looked at me, "You said...They would come back soon..." Oh no "...So where's mom and dad?". At least I know what is bothering her, but...this was bothering me too, they said they would be here soon, so where the hell are my parents?!

"I don't know Ida..." I looked down "I wish...I wish I knew" "I miss them" "Me too, the house is...too silent now" but the silence was broken with a loud knock at the door, making me and Idalina jump shock "I-I'm gonna see who is it" I said running as the knocks begin to be louder.

"Hello?" I asked still not opening the door "It's the soldiers of your majesty Hakell the third, we are here to give a message to Thyri and Idalina Urd, is this their house?" I unlocked the door slowly, opening just to see four figures with the army's uniform looking at me "Y-Yes...I'm Thyri Urd, sir"

They looked at each other, like something wasn't right "How old are you, little one?" one of the soldiers asked me "I'm ten, I'll be eleven in December", their faces had a sad expression, I began to be scared "What happened? It's something wrong?"

"...Little one, this maybe be difficult for you to handle it, but you have to know..." "Thyri, who is it at the door?" Ida came and the soldiers seemed to get more worried "This is my little sister, Idalina, she's seven" "Eight in October!" Ida completed "Yeah, she'll be eight in October"

One of the soldiers got on their knees and looked at me and Ida "You two are here alone?" "Yes, grandma is not coming this weekend and...our parents are on the war, so..." I looked at Ida, as the soldiers looked at each other again

"Thyri and Idalina, right?" we agreed at their question with our heads "You two need to know something...It's hard to accept it...Your parents fought bravery in this war, they were heroes, Eda Urd and Arvid Maya, were the ones who...saved us" I smiled "Really?! Do you see Ida? Mom and dad are heroes!" "Yes! We're gonna have the homecoming party of legends!" she said and we laughed. The soldiers stained in silence.

"So, where are they?" Ida asked "When we can see them?" one of the soldiers showed us a box, "This is something they made for you two, they...told us to give it to you". When I open it, it was full of pictures, of beautiful places that we never saw it, and another little boxes, maybe are necklaces or other jewels "Wow! Look Thyri! It's a picture of the Northside isn't it?" "Yeah, I think it is"

"This...is for you two too" The soldier said giving me a letter "What is it?" they stayed in silence, looking down, not wanting to look at us. I began to read.

"For the two most precious stars of our lives,

Thyri, Idalina, we love both of you some much, and we miss you more than everything. We're fighting with all our forces to win this battle and return home...but...it was not enough...I'm so sorry sweeties, but mommy and daddy won't go home...we can't...we won't make it...it's impossible.
We're going to miss you two forever and ever, but we're always be on your heart okay?... Please forgive us...we couldn't see you two again...I'm sorry...I love you.

Mom and Dad"

Tears came out of my eyes, and it didn't stop. The pain in my heart is too much for me. I screamed in sadness and rage. What is this?! This...This is not... "Thyri? Thyri what happened?!" Ida came to me worried "W-Were are they?..." I asked, weakly "Please...Tell me the truth..." "This is the truth little one, I'm sorry" "NO IT ISN'T! WHERE ARE MY PARENTS?! TELL ME!"

I didn't stop screaming and crying, louder and louder, it was so high that even the neighbors came to see what was going on. Ida read the letter too, wanting to know why I was like this. In two minutes she was just like me.

"I'm sorry kids...I'm truly sorry" the soldiers said, I was full of anger now "You saw it?" "What?" "You saw it happening?" I asked again, still on the ground "What are you-" "DID YOU SAW MY PARENTS DYING?!" they stopped, shocked "N-No but-" "So how can you say it's true? HUH?!" "Our superiors they-" "TELL ME THE TRUTH! WERE ARE MY PARENTS?!" I screamed again, now looking at them,

"I'm sorry little one, this is the truth"
