In the city of Seoul, the roads were busy as the weekend encouraged people to come out and enjoy the summer evening with their friends, family or lovers. Certainly everybody wanted to go out to relax or have fun. With busy lifestyle, more working hours and less time to spend with family, everyone was using their Sunday to bond with their family or to send time with their lovers and friends.
In the hustle and bustle of the city, everyone was looking for happiness. Happiness that is becoming more unattainable with the increasing leisure and comfort, that comes at a price of sacrifice.. sacrifice of your time. Either time is used to achieve the goal one has set for themselves or time that is used to reach where others are. The main cause of this misery is desire that is slowly burning away the happiness of our lives.
Everyone wants to reach at the top even if you will be standing their alone, you felt it like you were doing it for others, others who you love but they were left or you lost them on the way.
EUPHORIA MALL
One of the largest mall in the country, on sunday it was crowded with people, people who were having fun in a way. Their stood a 6 feet 2 inch tall and bulky young man. He had a fine body with good amount of muscles at the right places. Anybody by seeing his body could tell that he was in a field where body was kept fit and fitness was an priority.
Next to him was an old lady, she was happy around so many people. He was holding her hand, she was his dearest grandmother who was a mother to him as she nutured him from the time he was born to present. He loved her to the fullest and because she wanted to enjoy some time outside and wanted to do some shopping for her husband, both grandma and grandson was here in the mall to look for presents for their beloved grandpa and husband.
"Chan I was planning to buy your grandpa a expensive watch, lets go their and we both can select it for him" The granny spoke happily.
"As you say grandma, your orders are my priority" Chanyeol said. His grandma has a really bright personality, she is the only source of happiness in his grandpa's and his life. They have been through a lot of dark times but this fragile looking lady always stood strong like a pillar that has been bearing the weight of the family she has build with her blood, sweat and tears.
"Okay let's go" she said happily as she quite of ran to the store.
Chanyeol walked behind her, he already had a lot of stuff he has been carrying but that weight was nothing for him. His body was trained to carry a lot more than this. He saw his grandma near a employee who was showing her the different kind of watches. She was quite happily looking at each one of them. He was sure she will take a lot of time.
She was quite picky when it came to buying expensive things, as the main lady of the house she has build this tendency to manage budget and always looks for the best that will be compatible to its price.
Chanyeol also sat next to her while she was engrossed, he thought of having a looking around the shop. The shop was quite sumptuous. He was looking around when a scene caught his attention.
A lady that could be around his mothers age if she was alive had sad expression as her son was buying her something. She wasn't quite happy that he was wasting his hard earned money, where as the son was quite determined as he said he only had one mother and he always wanted to buy those for her.
" Momma, I know you don’t want them and you are feeling that I am giving them to you out of guilt but thats not the case. I always wanted to give them to you. Please accept it mom, its my love that has taken this shape." He said with sad eyes while he had really selomn expressions. He continued.
"See you look so pretty, my mom is the most beautiful lady. I just wanted her to look more pretty" he said while making cute faces.
"Nobody can win you, I give up and thank you son." She said with tears in her eyes.
He hugged her and paid for the gold and diamond earrings. They both left the store happily while the son was holding his mothers hand. They both left happily and a smile also appeared on his face.
"What a beautiful mother and son duo, its hard to find good offspring now a days" his grandmother told him while she had her hand on his shoulder. He also nodded.
The grandma was sad inside, her happy facade couldn't keep the feeling away, she knew her grandson misses his parents a lot. He did received his fathers love but was completely oblivous to his mother embrace and love as she left him really early. She tried her best to give her all the love a mother could give but still a mother is always a mother.
"Grandma aren't we also a beautiful grandmother and handsome grandson duo? Arent we?" He said while kissing his grandma's cheek.
"Yes,we are. You little cheeky brat" She said while laughing.
Both of them also did their shopping and left the mall with happy smiles and good memories. They had their best grandma and grandson date.
3 YEARS LATER
AT THE PARK MANSION
Chanyeol just came back home for a month. He applied for a month leave as his grandmother's birthday was in the following week. He didn't wanted to leave her alone and sad like past two years as he wasn't sanctioned the leave as he was in a mission on her two birthdays.
He was determined this years and applied for his leave a month ago. He was given the leave and he came back to seoul for his grandmother's birthday.
It was her birthday today and he was sure she must have said no to any kind of celebration as he was not here. He also wanted to give her a surprise. Still dressed in his military uniform he entered the mansion. The mansion was giving a quite gloomy vibes.
He slowly entered the house and left for kitchen. He saw his grandma was cooking something while she was wiping her tears. His heartbroke at the sight. He slowly moved closer and back hugged her. She was startled and turned around as a body reflex. As she saw him she started crying more loudly. He hugged her tightly and was moving his hands in a circular motions around her back to comfort her.
"Am I dreaming" His grandma asked herself and pinched her arms. She shouted in pain and smiled as she realised her grandson was here.
"Happy birthday to my beautiful grandma. Captain Chanyeol reporting " He said while saluting her and kissed her forehead.
" You got promoted?" She asked and he nodded. She started smiling widely and kissed his forehead. She hugged him tightly as her grandson was the only light of their dull life. He always made both the old couple proud of his achievements.
"I'm so proud of my baby" she said.
"Me too" they heard and turned around to see his grandfather standing there with a proud smile on his face.
