"Hurry up! "
Valentine's overly hyper roommate and best friend said in a rushed tone as she dragged her down the alley and towards the entrance of the venue. Gina's heels clicked against the pavement while Valentine's, very sensible and worn down grey sneakers, splashed against the water from the previous rainy day tracking up mud and beginning to soke her socks. A light fog painted the cool and crisp air.
She frowned and rolled her eyes.
"We're already late, Gina. What difference does three more minutes make? " Her voice was sarcastic but Gina never took it personal.
In fact, Gina was grinning ear to ear like a school girl and didn't notice her friend was speaking.
The music thumped and shook the ground, it was so loud that it could be heard outside, sending shivers straight to Valentine's chest.
She could already feel the bass pouring through her ears and filling her heart. It made her nervous, but it was too late to turn back now.
They breached the door, Valentine hadn't even noticed that Gina had the concert tickets out of her bag and in her hand, she was shoving them into the doorman's grip.
Gina giddly jumped while clapping her hands happily, her wild red curls bounced as she did, falling just at her shoulders. Her perfectly arched brows raised in excitement and her full pout (which was painted a dark crimson) couldn't stop parting for a smile. Perfect straight teeth.
Gina was a tall woman, twenty five but she looked about eighteen. Her eyes were a pale grey and stood out from the heavy and dark makeup that graced her face. She was built lean and wore a tight red leather skirt, a crop top that featured her current favourite band "Ghost" In bright red lettering and white outlines.
Valentine didn't know much about the group, in fact, Valentine wasn't too much into music let alone anything metal or rock.
Gina, on the other hand, was so outgoing, so confident and such a rocker. Complete opposite of shy and timid Valentine, who hid behind her grey clothes and crappy obsession with photography.
When Gina heard a few weeks ago that Ghost was playing in their town and on tour, she put her entire check from working at the diner into the tickets, getting front row seats and forcing Valentine to tag along, despite Valentine's clear wishes against it.
Valentine knew that Gina would likely get drunk or go home with a random hook up stranger and leave her all alone.
She did that a lot.
Sometimes Valentine wished Gina had more respect for herself, especially in the many occasions that Gina felt heart broken because the hook ups never led into anything real and with substance.
Gina just wanted to be loved and no matter how much Valentine loved her as a friend, nothing ever seemed enough for her. So Gina looked for "love" In all the wrong places, despite being a bright and charismatic woman.
Valentine wasn't interested in seeing a concert, let alone Ghost.
Valentine didn't get the hype, but how could she say no to her energetic and excited friend?
Valentine, who was only five-three but felt like a gnome, was in the process of zoning out until her arm was yanked on again. This caused her chocolate brown eyes to widen and her small nose to scrunch up in surprise as they dashed down the venue Hall and toward the source of music.
Valentine was quite out of her comfort zone, it was no surprise that Gina went head first into the crowds of people to help clear a path for her friend as they made their way to the front.
