„What?" he sounded so confused.

„You wrote all those things and then you just called it a...joke." to tell you the truth it kind of hurt me in a way.

„How long did you know?" he asked simply.

„Remember that time you knew what was in the letter without me telling you? I'm not that stupid. And also the handwriting but I asked something first."

„Why did you write that it was a joke?" I raised my voice a bit. „Was it really...just to make fun of me?"

He fixed his eyes onto the ground.

„....no." he said quietly.

„Then why would you-" he cut me off.

„Because you were so into it that I was scared you might figure out it was me, okay? I didn't want to ruin our friendship..." he said a little angrily and I was speechless.

I didn't know that he felt like this...

He took a deep breath.

„Remember the first day of school?" I nodded. „You wanted to have your high school romance so much and I... didn't want you to meet someone new."

I didn't know what to say.

„So that's why...I wrote you all those letters... so that you won't try to meet someone." he finished and I was just trying to process what I just heard.

„I'm sorry." he added.

„What are you sorry for?" I looked at him with teary eyes.

The fact that he wrote the letters to prevent me from finding a boyfriend kind of touched my heart.

„I don't know...for being selfish?... You have the right to find a boyfriend so let's just forget all this." why does he want to act like nothing happened so much?

He was ready to leave but I couldn't let him go like this.

„Do you remember..." he stopped as I started speaking. „that one time in LA when we were playing on a playground together..."

He looked so confused but I felt like now is the time to tell him everything.

„And there was this girl...Bethany was her name I think. She would always hang out around us... but mostly around you."
Joshua's eyes went wide again.

„She bothered me. And I didn't know why back then. But now I know. She liked you...and so did I." I said it. I finally told him.

„You were so nice to her so I-" I stopped.

I stopped because Joshua suddenly hugged me. My mind went blank but I managed to hug him as well.

We stayed like that for a while and then he said:

„I'm sorry."

„For what now?" I asked teasingly.

„For being nice to Bethany." and as he said that I pulled away from him to hit his arm.

He just laughed and so did I.

We were finally okay. More than okay.

I loved being friends with Joshua but I guess I always liked him more than just as a friend.

That's the reason why I wanted to meet someone else badly. I couldn't bear the thought of liking someone who would friendzone me.

But now that I know that we both like each other it feels...right.

The next day I held a letter in my hand.

But it was not a letter from Joshua.

It was a letter FOR Joshua.

I wrote what I wanted and left it in his locker.

When he came I just acted like I was taking books from my locker.

„What is this?" he mumbled and looked at my letter.

I wrote: 'I like you so much.' and added a heart.

„Lau?" he said and I looked at him as if it wasn't me.

„Hm?"

„Do you want to explain this?" he leaned against the lockers.

„Did you get a love letter?" I asked but my acting is not ...great.

„Come on I know it was you." he smiled.

„It could've been someone else." I argued.

„You know what..." he suddenly stood in front of me. „I know your handwriting better that anyone else." he was dangerously close as he said that.

„And I like you too." he added and leaned even closer.

„What on earth is going on here." we both heard ChaeRyeong.

She was standing there completely dumbfounded. It was obvious that she heard us.

But Joshua didn't lean back which made me feel kinda awkward.

„Who's gonna explain it to her?" I asked quietly.

„You can." he said and left a really quick peck on my lips.

He literally ran away after that.

I stood there completely frozen and ChaeRyeong's mouth almost dropped.

„Oh dear god I must have eaten something bad this morning..." she said seriously but I just laughed.

I might have as well laughed because it has been a long time since I felt this happy.
