They circled the castle as quietly as they could when they finally saw Xer with that strange little creature, like a wizard with bulging eyes. They were talking. And there, Katrina and Scrit were, only a few meters away, not knowing what to do or what to say.
Katrina was hiding behind one of the walls, thinking what to do until she transformed herself into something so small that it seemed to be nonexistent. She went to Xer, mounted herself onto Scrit who transformed into an ant as fast as he could, and they began to climb up Xer's pants until they were close enough to his ear.
Katrina began to speak. "Matt." She said.
He raised his ear.
"What's wrong?" The creature asked.
"I thought I heard something." He replied nervously. Nobody called him Matt since long ago.
"Matt." She repeated.
He scratched his ear and almost made them fall off.
"We need to talk, Matt."
"Do you hear that?" Matt asked, acting strangely for the other being that was with him.
"What? You should rest now, if you can. I can see you're a little dazed."
Xer frowned and headed toward his room.
"See you later." He said, before closing the door behind him.
He sat on a bed that occupied most of the room and it had a round shape. It was the biggest bed Katrina had ever seen, and not just because her current size was smaller than an ant.
"Matt."
"Who's there? I know you're there, so come out of wherever you're hiding..."
She was already sliding off Xer, as if it were a climbing class and then appeared behind him while Scrit remained hidden behind one of the large cushions that were on the perfect bed.
"Matt." She said again.
He turned abruptly and was speechless. He'd never seen anyone of his own kind. "Who are you?"
"My name is Katrina."
There was a long silence that Matt interupted with piercing questions.
"How'd you get here? Are you human? Where are you from? What are you doing here?"
"We have to talk Matt. Let's sit down and let me explain everything to you."
He didn't know what to do and finally offered her a seat on his bed and she was at his side. Katrina had her heart beating a thousand times per minute. She didn't know how Matt was going to react. He had short, straight hair that was a light, chestnut color. Much like hers. He let a curly fringe fall on his forehead. That front, with milky skin that covered his entire body, sprinkled with freckles, highlighting even more the gray of his eyes. Those deep, lost eyes that gave a feeling of emptiness that ran down your back with a chill. Katrina felt sorry for him.
"Well?" He asked, intrigued.
She swallowed before speaking. "I know who you are, Matt." It was the only thing she could say.
"Really? And how do you know who I am?"
"I know you're human. That your name is Matthew, although here they say Xer. I know that you have never been to our dimension because you were forbidden by the beings that live here. I know they did it for a reasonable reason since you wanted to bring an army here to destroy them. I know you're angry and I know that this is all crazy."
Matt listened so intently that he didn't blink.
"I know more things about you than you think." She added.
