(Hello my friends, I know I was slacking this weekend so hopefully this makes up for it... Hopefully. The plot thickens in this chapter, so WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, LET THE FANFIC RESUME!)

Kirstie changed into her uniform consisting of a red t-shirt and black basketball shorts and then walked into gym class in the middle of dodgeball. So of course, with her luck, when she walked out of the locker room, she got smashed in the head with that damn ball.

"Oh my God, Kirst, are you okay?" Avi almost shouted, concern apparent in his face.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm okay. Just a little bit shook up," she replied, rubbing her right temple and standing up with help from Avi.

"Oh God, I'm so sorry. I just screwed everything up."

"Avi, I'm okay honey. I promise. It's just an accident, we're still good," Kirstie replied, trying to calm her anxious boyfriend while trying to ignore the pounding in her head.

"Do you need the nurse or something?"

"Yeah, I should probably get some ibuprofen."

"Okay, I'll walk you there. Let's go babe," Avi replied, leading her over to the gym teacher to explain.

The two exited the gymnasium toward the nurse's office, Avi's hand on the small of Kirstie's back, gently rubbing his thumb back and forth, in an attempt to make her feel better.

Once they reached the nurse's office, Kirstie was inspected while Avi leaned against the wall, watching the blonde curls bounce when she nodded her head at the nurse's questions. He felt so drawn to her, almost like they had been dating for several years, not just one day.

"Okay dear, you're all done here. No concussion, but we'll give you some painkillers for your headache," the nurse concluded.

"Thank you," Kirstie said, dipping her head back and swallowing the pills. "I think we can go now, Avi."

"Okay."

"Thank you," the couple yelled over their shoulders as they exited the nurse's office, heading back to class.

They walked down the hallway before Kirstie pulled them into a nook leading to a storage room, out of sight of any cameras. Then the blonde pulled on her boyfriend's shirt and kissed him passionately.

Avi stood in shock for a second before he kissed her back, moving his lips rhythmically against his girlfriend's. They broke apart, both stunned.

"Um, not that I'm complaining, but what was that for?"

Kirstie chuckled and said, "For caring about me so much. That's never happened to me before, and my body just kinda took over just now. But it doesn't look like you hated it."

"Nope, nope, definitely enjoyed that. We should probably get to class and continue this later," Avi said with a wink.

"I think I could settle for that," the blonde agreed, grinning.

"Okay, now act like you are in pain so you can get out of gym."

"You know me so well," she smiled.

The couple walked back into gym, and after Avi lead Kirstie to a bleacher, he explained what happened to the teacher, and jogged over to Kevin, who greeted him back into the game, knowing something happened by the shit-eating grin on Avi's face.

Scott drove Mitch to the brunette's house, knowing that Mr. & Mrs. Grassi weren't home. They were never home due to their jobs.

They pulled into the driveway and Scott hopped out then ran around the front of the truck to open the door for his boyfriend.

"Such a gentleman," Mitch teased rolling his eyes.

"Only the best for m'lady."

They went inside Mitch's house, raided the fridge, and sat down on the couch, Mitch curled up against Scott, with the blonde's arm draped over him.

"So," Mitch began, "are you going to explain why you thought I was almost dead earlier?"

"Um, okay, you know everything about me right?"

                     "Yes, Momma does."

"Well, there's something that was going on before I met you. Adam, yes, that one, he would always bully me and beat me to a bloody pulp and he also drilled into my hand one time with the actual power tool. That happened until we were about eight and I got much taller than him. One day I snapped and punched him and beat him, and it was basically like the scene from "A Christmas Story". He let me alone then. But then I became friends with you, and he started bullying you to get to me. I would have stopped him a long time ago but he threatened to kill my family and you. And I believed him. I still do. He has real issues. I knew he didn't beat you up too bad because I would always inspect you after you were away from me and I never saw blood. I know that it's selfish but I'm scared, baby. I'm so scared," Scott finished, crying and holding onto Mitch.

"Shh baby, it's okay, it will all be okay." Mitch reached his hand up and stroked the broken boy's cheek. He leaned up and kissed Scott, gently pressing his lips against the tear-stained ones.

"I love you. I love you so much."

                        "I love you too, Scottie."
