“You owe me,” Vida says, suddenly barging into my room and walking to my piano seat.
“What do you mean?” I ask, dropping the clothes I’m packing into my duffel bag.
“You know you’re actually spending the weekend with someone who is not Winifred,” she says in a carefree manner. Like, anyone can hear her right now.
“So you want me to pay you or what? You go tell my mom?” I fold my arms across my chest. “You did well by not being evil for once, I’m glad but that doesn’t mean I have to pay you, and I hope you really aren’t evil anymore.” I turn back to continue packing my clothes.
“Oh okay...Won’t force you though,” she tells me and goes over to start playing the piano. She starts to sing a Christian song which is itching my ears right now.
“Stop pretending to be an angel whenever my parents are around,” I say.
“Stop treating me like I’m a devil or something ok?”
“As long as you hang out with Dianne, I’ve got no other choice,” I grin sarcastically so she will get annoyed by it. I know I’m very bad at annoying someone but duh...
“I hang out with Tola, not Dianne or the other two. I like Tolani more and she is always with them so I have to be there too, doesn’t mean I hang out with Dianne. She is basically the least person I’d want to make a friend of mine.”
“Whatever.”

Last period and the time keeps moving really slow. Every single time, I’m always on my wristwatch checking on the time so I can remind Asher to alert the teacher when her period is over.
“Karen, read the last paragraph,” Mrs Kate orders me. She is the English teacher for this term because Mrs Wande thinks she’ll make us more stable before our JAMB or WAEC exams.
I stand up with heavy eyes and raise my textbook to my face.
While I read, I feel something going under my skirt, like up my thighs right now and I’m at the back of the class.
I hurry up with my reading and turn back to see the creepy stuff going between my privacy, only to find Asher using a pencil to trace lines in between my thighs.
This guy is making me scared of him, it even makes me wonder the reason he wants us to spend the weekend together. I’m getting scared right now.
“Can I sit down now?” I ask Mrs Kate with a rushed voice.
“Hold on a sec,” Mrs Kate tells me.
This is the worst. Why do I have to be the person reading the passages today? C’mon, Winifred used to do that.
And the idiot keeps doing his stuff with the minnie mouse pencil which makes me uncomfortable so I just move out from that spot and stand beside my table. With side glances, he is smirking and shaking his head – pretending to be concentrating on what is being taught.
I check the time again. 3 o’ clock. Before I’m able to say anything, my classmates have already announced it.
“Mrs Kate, your class period is over!” And there’s laughter.
Silly classmates of mine.
“Okay. Answer questions on page 58, exercise 5c. To be submitted on Monday, no excuses!” she orders before leaving.
I sit back on my chair without sparing one glance at this nasty Asher who is wanting a sexual attachment with me.
“Hey girlfriend.” He crosses his hand over my shoulder. “Look at me. Are you sad? Did I make you angry?”
