A short update, but an update nonetheless. This story is going to get gooood :) I have so many plans for it!

Maybelle Mabry thought that she was dreaming the most horrific of dreams, but it was not so. For when she had finally awoken in the arms of a worried looking Wyatt, everything had come flooding back to her in waves. She stared at the man in awe, even though he was not really a man at all.  And only after several minutes of realization hitting her like a rock, did she sit up from his lap. He sat outside in the yard, wearing only a pair of dark slacks. The trees surrounded him and his large home. He observed the young woman look around at her surroundings, as if taking it all back in. When she looked back up towards his face, her lips were parted and her eyes had gone wide.

She asked as if unsure of the question, "I am one of you?"

"Yes," Wyatt said with a small smile etched onto his lips, "That is true."

"Then how is it that my parents have never told me?"

"Because," he began again, tracing a long, dark strand of hair away from her face, "they are not really your parents."

            May stuttered, "What?"

"Don't you see it?" Wyatt pondered aloud, "They have no resemblance to you despite maybe a few physical features. Surely you must know that your so called father took you in and sheltered you so much because he had kidnapped you from our pack of Lycans?"

May was silent for a long time before screeching out, "What do you mean he kidnapped me?"

"You see," Wyatt began again, rubbing a stressed hand over his face as if trying to think of a way to explain everything to her, "The mayor of this town knows of our existence, and many of the more powerful and important people of this city do as well. They hate us, they want us gone, but they cannot kill us because they would be killing us in the form of people, and the rest of the city who are oblivious to it all would assume that they are murderers and communists. I do not think that your precious father would like to lose his title and be imprisoned for life. And so, he took you instead, knowing that when you were destined to be my mate at birth. He figured that by getting to you, he was getting to me, and was preventing a mated alpha to start a family."

When Wyatt had finally stopped explaining, he watched as Maybelle shivered but not because she was cold. She was so frustrated that she was shaking from her nerves, and she was confused. It was only then that he realized she was having a slight panic attack.

Wyatt wrapped his arms around her and calmed her by speaking sweet words into her ear, "Do not fret, my Maybelle, for in time this will sink in and will not seem so bad anymore."

When her shaking had stilled instantly, she gritted her teeth and the sudden change from her hysterics to rage alarmed Wyatt, "You are wrong."

Wyatt was shocked by her words, "No, I am not?"

"Yes!" She shouted, standing up instantly, "You are. And you are also just the big bad wolf that is trying to convince me that you are right, because that is what a true kidnapper would do in order to make the victim wiling. I am not stupid, and therefore I am not oblivious either."

Wyatt's fists clenched, and he said almost breathlessly, "Then go ask the man you call father."

May was taken aback by his words, and she whispered lowly, "I will."

She began to walk away after that, but before she disappeared into the woods she could hear Wyatt shout after her, "Come find me when you have heard the truth."

She paused momentarily, letting his words sink in, before walking again.
