Meg POV

We started to get ready to leave when my phone started to ring.

"Sorry I have to answer this." I told Izzy, I walked towards the door so Izzy doesn't hear me.

"Yes mom?"

"Your dad needs you." She said.

"You know what he does," I confronted her, surprised that I'm doing this in public. In front of Izzy. "Why haven't you stopped him?"

"Why haven't you?" She fires back. I go to hang up the phone.

"Wait please," I hear my mother say. "That was inappropriate, I'm sorry. Just come home."

I hung up without answering.

"Sorry." I gave Izzy a big fake smile.

It started to rain, so we ran to my car sexy.

"Where to?" I asked, pulling out of the restaurant parking lot.

"My house," Izzy said, a few seconds later. "Actually the library."

"Are you sure?" I'm not ready to go home.

"My parents don't like me hanging out with strangers," She jokes, "also my family doesn't know I'm gay."

"Well, I could always be just a friend."

"Maybe next time." Izzy said, sounding like there might not be a next time.

"Would they be okay with you being gay?" I'm at a red light trying to see if the gas station was too packed to get gas.

"I mean yeah," She said. "But I think I would just feel different and maybe they will act different. Like they will make jokes, even though I don't make jokes about their sexuality."

Yes the gas station is packed.

"They just might need sometime to adjust." I told her.

"Maybe," Izzy said. "What about your parents?"

"They know I'm bisexual but they don't believe it," If she really knew. "I'm the only child, so that sucks. But I'm glad I'm the only one that has to deal with my parents."

Izzy looks down at my leg and I remember the cut my dad put there the other night, and I pull down my shorts.

"So tomorrow?" I asked. She takes her eyes away.

''Yeah," Izzy said. "Do you want to come over before and have dinner with my family?

"Sure. Is six fine?" Maybe she doesn't mind hanging out with me, and by the looks of it she needs a little fun.

"Yeah." She said. I pull into the library.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye." I said.

Izzy opens her door but I tug on to her back of her shirt.

"Huh?" She turns and our lips meet. She smells like vanilla and honey.

"Ahhh." Izzy's eyes widen. "See you tomorrow."

When I get home, which is a trailer. I see my dad.

"Oh hey." He said. None of the lights were on but the from the little light from the window shows me the beer in his hand, "come here."

I move closer to him but slowly.

"Yeah?" He wants me to act dumb, like if I didn't know what he was doing.

When I was younger I thought it was normal, I thought he was normal.

He put his hand on my thigh and started to go higher.

Izzy POV

"Where have you been?" Anna asked.

"I just had lunch and study."

"You never wear lipstick." I know she regret saying that, like I would go back in my little shell.

"What?" I kiss my hand and see Meg's lipstick. "Oh yeah. Just wanted to try something new." I said, awkwardly laughing, walking in and closing the bathroom door.

"Did you forget about me?" I hear Isaac ask. Wait Isaac! I look at myself and get some paper towels wet and wipe it off as fast as I can.

I unlocked the door and wrap my arms around his neck.

"I missed you!"

He laughs. "I know."

"I hate you."

"Yeah I kinda can tell. I been here for a couple of hours."

"You wasn't supposed to be here till three." I said.

"I left early." He said.

"Sorry." I said, feeling bad.

"It's fine," Isaac said. "I missed you too."

My phone starts ringing. I looked at it and it read (Meg).

"I'll be right back." I tell him. I answer the phone but I don't say anything till I'm safe in my room.

"What's up?"

"Can I come over?" I hear Meg crying on the other end.

"Um," I said. "Sure, but we have to make up some sort of story."

"Okay." Meg said, then hung up.

I walk into the living room and hope they don't ask a lot of questions.

"Hey," I said. "A friend is coming over."

Mom and Anna looks shocked. I know they talk about me behind mine back. The crazy, depressed cutter chick....yay!

"Okay." Dad said.

Isaac hugs me from behind. He has short brown hair and wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.

"It's okay." He said. "Hang out with your only friend."

I text Meg where I live.
