Pikachu was just minding his own business, licking some ketchup from a bottle like he would sometimes do, when Meowth walked up to him.
Meowth: Hey, Pikachu. Ya got a question to answer for somebody. Figured this would be a good time to come to ya about it.
Pikachu: Really? What's the question?
Meowth: EbbiTheTigress wants to know why you eat ketchup all the time. Frankly, some of the other Pokemon want to know too, and I don't know what to tell 'em.
Pikachu: Oh, well, it's not that special of a thing. At first, it was just some joke we did in the show for me to like ketchup all the time. But I came to like it so much that it just became a habit off stage to lick ketchup sometimes.
Meowth: Really?
Pikuchu: Yep. That's pretty much it. :P
Meowth: Why would they come up with the whole ketchup thing in the first place? I don't remember if there was a reason at all.
Pikachu: Probably was just a joke about how Ash's last name sounds kinda like ketchup. I don't remember either to be honest. It was so long ago.
Meowth: Huh. Well, thanks for the time buddy.
Pikachu: No problem. :3
