Chapter 4: Meeting the Pack

I walked into the house and was glad I had missed Bella's party. I looked around at the aftermath of what happened. I didn't say anything as I felt Jasper's emotions invade my senses as I watched what happened through his mind. I walked to my brother and placed a calming hand on his shoulder.

"Start packing." Edward said as he walked into the room angrily.

"Wait a damn minute Edward Anthony Masen Cullen!" I yelled, causing him to look at me. "You can't just leave without telling Bella something believable." I tell him. "Do it tomorrow after school. Now go pack your shit so you can leave with us tomorrow." I walked away knowing everyone was shocked at my outburst. I quickly grabbed my suitcases I had under my bed and began packing everything before running it down to my car. When I was done I met with Carlisle in his study. "I'm going to go to Denali. If you want, the house in London is cleaned up since I was staying there for a few days after I gave up on tracking Victoria. And you shouldn't run into any Volturi either." I added before I explained what happened between Demetri and Luna. "I didn't tell them who created me. I was able to hide my accent." I tell him. He nodded.

"So you'll keep a lookout for when Victoria ends up coming back for Bella?" He asked.

"Yes. If that happens then I'll come back and help the wolves since some of them have phased." I said and before Edward could argue from his room I added, "I'll stay out of sight so Bella won't see me." I hugged everyone minus Edward goodbye. Alice and Jasper were going to be with me in Denali so I didn't bother to hug them. The three of us headed for our cars before peeling out of the driveway and making our way to Denali. I called Eleazar and let him know I was on my way with Alice and Jasper. I explained what happened and that there might be a chance that I'd be leaving in case Victoria came back for revenge. I pulled into the garage of the Denali house and was surprised to find Laurent there with my cousins.

"Alexis. It's good to see you again." He said. I gave a small smile as I saw Irina look at him lovingly. I was glad Irina found her mate. I grabbed my bags and took them up to one of the guest rooms and unpacked before going to hunt as it had been a few days since my last hunt. I was surprised when Laurent joined.

"You're different from the newborn I encountered all those years before. I'm surprised the Volturi still haven't learned of your existence yet."

I glared at him as I pounced on an unsuspecting animal. "I ran into two of them while I was in London. Of course, I never mentioned who my creator was." I watched him walk away. I watched in my mind as his tenor headed for the town. I rolled my eyes knowing he wouldn't last long before he met up with Victoria.

Three months later

Laurent left Denali. I looked at Alice who nodded. I took off at a run and headed back to Forks. I stopped at the treaty line. "I need to talk." I waited patiently and then I heard it. The leaves on the bush moved ever so slightly and I heard the heartbeat. "I wasn't there when the Cullen's made the treaty with the previous Alpha but I am a part of their coven. I know you know that my brother got involved with a human but he left her."

'What does that have to do with us?' I heard a voice say as a huge black wolf showed itself.

"A few months ago 3 nomads passed through. We had to kill one who happened to be mated. I fear the other 2 are gonna try and come after my brothers mate." I say. I watch as the wolf walks away and wait a few minutes before a man appears.

"I'm listening." The man said.

"I need to talk to your chief. I promise I won't touch any of your people. Just please let me talk to him now. As soon as it's over I'll come back to my side of the treaty line. I'll even allow you on our side to keep the town safe." He thought about it and I could tell that it would be a no so I added, "I have a gift that can make me appear human. If you want I'll use that so I won't have the scent of a vampire." I smile when he finally nods. I jump across the line and quickly think of myself from when I was human. I followed the man through the woods.
