Chapter 7: Days with the Pack

After everyone voted on whether or not Bella would be joining I left the house and I hadn't been back since the vote which was a week ago. I had returned to La Push and met up with the pack making sure to hide the bleach scent of vampires and instead smelled like I usually do around the pack -a mix of winter air, books, and lavender-and I had also got to meet the newest pack members. The two Clearwater sibling's had quickly accepted that even though I was a vampire that I was a part of the pack from the moment I had started to help them. I had bonded with Leah the most while also spending some time helping Seth do his homework since Sam didn't want him patrolling since he was the youngest member. The pack were more my family than the Cullen's were at the moment. I literally had a whole new routine that I was more use to than when I lived with the Cullen's. I would help Emily cook food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, run patrols with a few of the pack members -mostly Leah- and when the boys returned from school I would help them with the homework since I had spent a fair amount of time learning everything there was to know, I would spend time with little Claire at the beach while she waited on Quil -who had phased the day after my family returned- to return from school and then at night I would talk on the phone with Alec. I was currently sitting in a tree reading Shakespeare, well more like rereading the same page as I was lost in thought, since Claire was taking a nap and the boys ran a small patrol.

The Cullen's looked shocked as they saw the Volturi crest. I guess Edward or Alice forgot to tell them everything that happened.

"Alexis... How?" Rose said unable to form the question.

"When we went to save Edward... I found out my mate was one of the Elite guards." I say before taking an unneeded breath. "I told Aro that I wouldn't join them until after Bella's transformation and her thirst was under control. And no one is to tell my brothers in Romania. I will when the time is right."

Everyone was quiet -taking in the information- before Bella spoke up. "You'd change your diet just to stay there? You'd be responsible for hundreds of deaths. You'd be a monster. Just like them."

I glared at the human before rushing toward her. I pinned her to the wall and finally said what was on my mind while I incapacitated Edward with Alec's gift. "Listen here Isabella, I didn't come back to Forks after everyone left just for you to beg the Volturi to kill you. I didn't just help the wolf pack try to capture the redhead who wants you dead for you to insult me." I hissed at her. "Besides you'll be a murderer after you turn with the uncontrollable thirst you'll face as a newborn. We've all been there. Including your precious Edward." I let her go and watched as she fell to the floor and Edward rushed to her as I released him. "Besides, I wouldn't change my diet. I'd still drink from the animals."

I sped out of the house and punched a tree before grabbing my bags that Jasper had brought from Denali and ran toward the treaty line. I had heard the disappointment in their voices, in their thoughts and I had felt their disappointment, their anger, and frustration. I jumped over line with ease as I used Luna's gift. The pack welcomed me back happily. I told them everything that happened in Volterra to now.

Jacob ran out of the house mad.

"If Edward is the one who changes her he has a syringe full of his venom. He wouldn't be breaking the treaty if he doesn't bite her Sam." I tell the pack alpha.

"Lexi!" Leah yelled. I look down as the female shifter. "Dr. Vamp is at the line he wants to talk to you." I mark my page and jump down.

"Alright. Just let me go change because afterwards I'm gonna go hunt." I tell her before darting inside to the guest bedroom that Sam and Emily said I could use. I changed into a black t-shirt and a pair of shorts. I tied a plaid long sleeve shirt around my waist and stepped into a pair of converses.
