I stay up all night debating whether I should date Ron Weasley. I'd have to cut things off with Draco. Ron's sweet, though. I think he'd be a good boyfriend. He's my brother's best friend. I think Hermione will be jealous. I just met him, I barely even know him. Harry's right. This doesn't need to be a permanent thing. I'm not signing some unbreakable contract or anything. But, can I really imagine a future with him? Am I just too eager to get a boyfriend? Would this be using Ron? Are my feelings for him real? Could they evolve to something stronger someday? What happens if we break up? Whose side would Hermione and Harry take? I sigh. Obviously Ron's side. Which means, breaking up with him means breaking up with Hermione and Harry. Maybe Harry wouldn't "break up" with me if he found out I'm his sister. But, then again, not going out with him could have the same effect. I think I do like Ron. Trying it out can't hurt, right? I take a shower and go down for breakfast. Here goes nothing. I smile and sit with my friends. Ron looks upset. "Did you think about it?" He asks. I nod.
"Sure, Ron. I'll go out with you." His frowny face turns into a humongous smile. It's just about Christmas time. "Are you guys staying at Hogwarts?" I ask Hermione and Ron. They both nod. Good. At least I won't be lonely for break! Well, Harry would be here too, but still. "So Ickie Ronnikins. Word is that you have a girlfriend," Either Fred or George say, ruffling his hair. Ron swats their hand away. "Yeah. She's sitting right there," He says, pointing at me. They look at me. "How did you do it?" One asks.
"He probably used a love potion!" The other laughs.
"Ickie Ronnikins? No. He's not smart enough."
"Good old blackmail?"
"Shut up, both of you! I actually like Ron. If I didn't, then I wouldn't be with him!"
"Oooooh, feisty! Keep our little brother in check, okay? Wait till Mum hears this!" The two brothers go back to their own conversation with their friend, Lee Jordan. "Hermione. You've been awfully quiet. What's wrong?" I ask her.
"Nothing," She says. She doesn't look okay. I wonder what's going on with her.
(time skip)
"C'mon now, get a move on! Got areal treat for yeh. Great lessoncomin' up. Follow me," Hagrid instructs, leading us to the side of the Forbidden Forest. "Gather 'round. Find yerself a spot. That's it. Now, firs' thing yeh'llwant ter do is open yer books." We examine the books he gave us. They move and bite.
"And how exactly are we supposed to do that?" Draco asks, snobbily. I roll my eyes.
"Make out with it, Malfoy. Maybe it'll open then." The Gryffindors erupt with laughter. I'm pretty proud of myself too. "Good one!" Ron says, holding my hand.
"Close. Didn' yeh know? All yeh'vegot ter do is stroke 'em. Look," Hagrid takes Hermione's book and strokes the spine of the book. The book shivers and stops biting, allowing him to open it. "Righ' then. So... so... yeh'vegot yer books, an' now yeh needthe Magical Creatures. Right.So... I'll... I'll go an' get 'em." He leaves to get them.
"God, this place is going to thedogs. Wait until my father hearsDumbledore's got this oaf teachingclasses," Draco says. I scoff.
"Yeah. You sure love talking to your father, huh? I'd bet you 5 galleons that he'd cry his way to getting Hagrid fired."
"Piss off, Mal-" Harry starts. Draco's eyes widen and he points, stepping back.
"Potter! Behind you! Dementor!" Harry jumps and turns around. Malfoy and his goons laugh. That was so mean. Harry blushes in embarrassment. We look back. Hagrid arrives with a strange beast. He has the torso, hind legs, and tail of a horse and the front legs, head, and wings of an eagle. "Gee up, there! Beau'iful, isn' he?" That's one way to put it.
