Y/n's PoVI gave one last glance to the digital clock displaying the time in red at the station wall.
It's 3am, and the pace of every second ticking only seem to get slower and slower. With a deep breath, I stepped out of the station although I didn't know where my feet would take me. Wrapping my arms around myself and clutching the coins tightly in my hand, I walked lifelessly.
He was my whole world, and I left him behind.
My grieving heart questioned the purpose of its beats, my breaths threatening to halt without his scent. My hollow body almost felt like floating in the air, the guilty soul wondering why it should even exist.Slowly, my limbs lost their feelings, as I strode with no sense of direction. The sound of something clink stopped my numb feet from moving and I looked down. I realized I've loosened my fist and couple of coins have slid out through my fingers. I glared at them wondering why I would even need them and began walking.
A tall grey telephone box with glass door became visible as I advanced. A dim yellow light illuminated the inside and the black phone kiosk displayed a message.
"Make a call"
An automatic message that flashed all the time regardless whether someone was there to see it or not. Somehow, I stood captivated by it, as if it was meant to be for me."Y/n ah...why didn't you call me? You know how worried I was?"
His words echoed, making me whimper. I ran back to pick up the coins I dropped. After pushing the last coin into the slit, I took the phone in my hand and closed my eyes.
I rewound my memory of him holding me tightly against himself, forcing me to learn his phone number. The Tears managed seep through my sealed eyelids, as my mind replayed his phone number.
I dialed the numbers one by one carefully...Author's PoV
Leaning his back on the chair with one leg folded and the other extended, he sat on the concrete ground, the napkin with her note was still kept crushed within his fist. With clenched jaws, sealed lips, and furrowed brows, he heedlessly peered at the grey concrete ground in front of him.
The phone is his pocket vibrated as it rang. He budged a little, slowly blinking without breaking the glare and slid it out if his pocket, completely disinterested.
His brows relaxed and his lips parted slightly, after seeing the unusual "No Caller ID" display on the screen.
A sudden rush of adrenaline surged through him as his thumb slid across the screen to answer it. Quickly slamming it against his ear, he waited restlessly to hear the voice on the other end. His eyes darted in dismay, unable to focus.
After seconds of deep silence, he heard it...
His eyes stopped moving, and he froze, forgetting to even blink.
It told him everything...
The pain...The fear...and the fragility...
It was a...breath
...just a breath...
...A single shaky breath of his sweetheart...resonating into his eardrum, making his heart clench. The two souls are so dearly bound to one, a mere breath was enough for one to know the other. He inhaled deeply as if he'd gained his life back.
Jk: "Y/n..."
He uttered shakily in anticipation. She gasped after his voice filled her ears. Breathing in deep through her mouth, she sealed it shut to silence her whimpers.
Jk: "Y/n...! I know it's you. Talk to me y/n ah...please."
He begged losing all the anger that erupted within him minutes ago.
She quietly wailed under her hand as the tears ran down soaking her hand and cheeks. The despair in his voice piercing through her heart, gave her a greater pain than of her own.Jk: "Y/n...please...say something."
His voice broke as he begged again.
She started sobbing into her hands as she slid down against the cold metal wall of the phone box. Unable to stand she curled into the corner holding the phone against her chest.
