Once again, Cad Bane had escaped, and this time, right from below their noses. After Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex and the remaining of the clones arrived from the exploding frigate where Bane had presumably died, the Captain had called Anakin back to the shuttle to show him a small puddle of blood. To Anakin's surprise, it was green, and as Rex stated, definitely not from them. It was Bane's.Anakin ran out of the shuttle as fast as he could, looking both sides for the blue man that had gained so much of his anger in so little time, only to find him once again with his Padawan.
"Ahsoka!" he'd called at the same time she realised who was standing in front of her.
Anakin sprinted to them as the bounty hunter delivered a strong enough blow with his knee to Ahsoka to leave her groaning on the ground. As much as that enraged him, he had to pass by his Padawan if he wanted to catch Bane. And he would have, if Admiral Yularen hadn't been so... him and taken longer to deactivate the hyper space rings. Because of that, Bane had escaped once again.
Finding him hadn't been hard, but the bounty hunter had proven to be quite skilled at escaping, even Jedi. Master Kenobi had been close to him in Rodia, but Bane took the child. On the other hand, Anakin had known his next target. The Gungan youngling in Naboo, and along with Ahsoka had been able to capture him finally. Obi-Wan, Master Windu, and Anakin, after much suggestion, obtained Bane's cooperation to find the holocron and the children.
However, Anakin had to stay behind to report to the Chancellor. And now, he was stuck at the hangar scrutinising Bane's fighter with his Padawan, from whom he sensed quite a level of disscontempt from. He knew she disliked staying back when there was something else she could be doing, something more engaging than what they were doing. He couldn't blame her, he was the same way. He had been bummed at first when he had been told by Obi-Wan to tell the Chancellor, however after some analyzation, he thought maybe he would be able to see Padmé, if only for a little while. A little while. That's how most of their meetings went, and sometimes not at all. She had been at a meeting, and without being able to come up with another excuse to hold off Ahsoka, they headed back to the Resolute and taken up to the task they had at hand now.
"Well, the piloting systems are clean." he voiced, switching some gears. "Checked the landing gear?" he added, clearly bored.
"Double-checked it." the feeling was mutual, based on Ahsoka uninterested tone of voice. "I have the feeling Master Windu and Obi-Wan could've used our help."
"Look, I don't like being out of the action other, but someone's gotta do this job."
"And it always ends up being us. Hmm. Bane picked up a lot of volcanic ash during his travels," there was a short pause, and R2 started whirling. "What have you got, R2?"she asked, climbing on wing of the fighter.
"Looks like Bane erased his navigation records, but not his fuel computer." Anakin said triumphantly, as Ahsoka leaned next to him.
"So?" Ahsoka asked unamused.
"Well, if we cross the planets we know the list of the plants we know he visited, with the distance he traveled..."
"We may be able to calculate where else he went," she finished for him, catching up. "That's a new one." Now, she seemed even excited.
"It's an old Jedi trick we use to track down smugglers." He explained.
And with that trick, the two were able to find out the possible place where Bane might have been meeting with whomever he was working for. Mustafar. Anakin wasn't very convinced, but Ahsoka's excitement and plead to give it a look was enough.
"Well, anything to get out of this hangar," he said, as he got off Bane's fighter. It was nice having her around, Ahsoka was someone he could go on his little adventures with.
The both of them headed to Mustafar, to another successful mission.

Authors note
I'm sorry is not very lengthy, but in this episode there wasn't much screen time for them. However, I'm leaving little pieces here and there to build up to the eventual real Anisoka moments that y'all are waiting for, like me.This is the first fanfic I ever write, so any constructive feedback is absolutely welcomed, as well as suggestions of episodes or off screen moments you want me to write about and such.
