What You Aspire to Be: Of the World? Or of God?

Many times I wonder what God was thinking when he decided to pay for my sins on that cross. I mean its not like I deserved it, and none of us did. But, it was because he loved us, and he knew that even though many would wander off when he paid for our freedom some of us would stay. In life, some of us aspire to be different things. Some aspire to be doctors, some aspire to be teachers, some even lawyers, and many other things. But, what I mainly aspire to be in my life, even though I know we must aspire to be different things on this Earth, but mainly I aspire to be a a young woman of God that is on fire for him and truly loves him. I aspire to be everything God wants me to be. Often, though, I also wonder what Jesus would say to satan if satan asked him specifically why he wanted me. This is how I would hope the conversation would go.
SATAN: Okay, you know most of these people are gonna just desert you. They won't care, and even if they begin to I can turn their worlds upside-down and they won't be able to hang on.
JESUS: I love them. All of them. Whether they are led astray or not.
SATAN: I mean really, though. Give me one good specific reason for one of these. How about that one for example. Why keep her? She will doubt you sometimes, she will fear what you have in store, and she's not always going to obey you.
JESUS: That one right there? See her name is going to be Mackenzie McConnell. Yes you are right about the doubt, the fear, and the obedience problems. But, let me tell you something. That girl right there is going to love me. She is so revolved around me that every time she is led astray the least bit, she will always come back to me. She loves me, and she always knows that I love her. She is so filled with a fire in her heart, and she always has a hunger for me and the Holy Spirit. Every time she has a problem she will talk to me as a child does to their Father. She will continue to make me proud, even if she does do a lot of wrong sometimes. She will lead people to the gates of heaven, and she will be brave enough to stand out from the crowd. She will stand up in her schools, her homes, her churches, and many other places in the world. She will minister to those who are in need, and she will stand strong.
SATAN: You know that when she does all of those things, I'm just going to tear her down. I have many ways to play games with her. Divorce, doubt, fear, confusion, stress, and many other things. She will feel like there is no hope, and it will turn her away from you.
JESUS: There you are wrong satan. You may pull out all of your tricks, but she will know where she stands with me. She is strong on so many levels. She knows how to pray to me and ask me for help. She is capable of calling out to me, and sometimes she will even praise me through her storms. Yes, she may sometimes lose hope, but she will find it in me. She may sometimes feel doubtful and confused, but she will find assurance and understanding in me. She may fear sometimes, but she will find comfort in me. She may sometimes feel stressed, but she will find peace in me. She may sometimes feel unloved or sorrowful, but she will find love and joy in me. She will not find any of those things in things of the world, and she will know that. She will turn to me, and she will not give up just because of your games.
SATAN: All of that in one human. Okay, tell me this. What if she was the only one that you could tell me those things about, would you still do this?
JESUS: She's not the only one. That is also what makes her strong. But, even if it was only her and everyone else in the world was corrupt because of mine and my Father's grace, I would still pay this price for her. But, I am telling you, you don't have any idea what you're in for satan. There are many others like her. I know it. Still, my love for her and those people is worth more to me than the pain you have in store.
SATAN: Psh, some kind of love. Giving all that I will take away from you up just for some humans. You sure you want to do this?
JESUS: Yes.
SATAN: Okay, it's you're funeral.
JESUS: And my resurrection.
SATAN: What was that?
JESUS: Nothing. That conversation is for yet another time.
See, those things that I hope Jesus would say about me? Well, those things I listed are the things I aspire to be in life. Those are my main goals out of everything that I do on this world. So, I simply ask you today, what do you aspire to be? To aspire to be of God, or to be of the things of this world? It's your choice what you do and aspire to do on this Earth. Just ask yourself this, what would you want Jesus to say about you? Want that, aspire that, and be that.
