"Merida! Lestrange woke up!" Abraxas burst into the library, ignoring the shushes from the other students, running straight towards Merida and Tom's table.

"Does that mean we can go see him now?" Abraxas nodded eagerly and grabbed Merida's arm, dragging her quickly to the infirmary to see their friend.

What Malfoy didn't notice were the dirty looks Tom was giving him as he watched Merida get whiskey away from him by the platinum haired boy.

Maybe Tom should've had Abraxas fall off his broom instead.

"Corvus!" Merida ran over to the bed her friend was laying in, grinning from ear to ear when she saw how alive he looked.

"You missed me?" He smiled up at her and Abraxas, the two students standing at the foot of his bed. Corvus didn't remember anything between the fall and the moment he woke up, all he knew was that he was unconscious for around a week before he finally managed to wake up. It was a miracle he was alive, but he still had to remain in the infirmary for another week before he gets cleared to resume his classes.

"You gave us quite the scare mate." Abraxas smiled, shaking his head. He was glad to see his best friend doing okay.

"Yeah sorry about that, don't remember much." Even though Corvus didn't know what happened to him on the field, he knew it had something to do with Tom. A way of getting him to shut up, perhaps. Tom always mentioned how Corvus pushed the limits whenever they were together. He simply had enough, and decided to put the Lestrange boy in his place. Corvus knew that.

He wasn't looking forward to seeing Tom again anytime soon.

"I'm so happy you're alright, we thought you died," Merida said.

Corvus winked at her, taking a bit more effort than usual due to his medical state at the moment. "Can't get rid of me that easily."

"You two!" Merida and Abraxas turned to face the shrill voice calling after them, it was the head nurse and she looked furious.

She grabbed the students by the shoulder and dragged them out of the room, Abraxas calling out to Corvus as he was ushered away, "See you soon Lestrange!" That earned him a smack on the back of his head from the elderly nurse.

"No visitors until he's better! Shoo!"

Once Merida and Abraxas were shut out of the infirmary, they burst into laughter.

"Oh God, she's got quite the stick up her ass."

  "Malfoy!"

  "What? It's true!"

Merida giggled, "be careful she might hear you!"

Malfoy lifted his hands up by his head, in a mocking manner, "Oh sorry, she might slap me again!"

  "That was funny though."

"Oh shove off," Abraxas playfully shoved Merida, rolling his eyes, "my father will be sure to hear about that."

They walked back to the common room, gathering their books for their next class, when Tom walked up to Merida as she was about to leave.

  "Did you see him?"

She gave him a gentle smile, he could predict her answer from the sparkle in her eyes, but he wanted to hear her speak to him nonetheless.

"Yeah, he's doing better." Tom offered her a smirk and accompanied her as they walked to potions.

"Perhaps we could go back to the greenhouse tonight, if you'd like?"

Merida didn't expect Tom to want to go back after taking him there the other day, maybe he liked being there just as much as she did? Whatever it was, it made her heart swell that he asked. She nodded and looked at the ground, trying to hide a smile.

  "I'd like that."

"Good," he held open the classroom door for her, "I'd like to speak to you more."

"We're talking now, Tom." He rolled his eyes.

"You know it's not the same."

"I'm starting to think you're enjoying my company, Riddle."

"We're more similar than I thought." He mumbled, opening his textbook, avoiding Merida's playful gaze. He'd be trapped getting lost in her eyes, a new behavior he seemed to develop by being around her.
