Peter's PoV

"Neughnnnnn"

I woke up with a groan. Looking over to my clock, I realized... that it was in pieces. Sighing, I rolled out of bed and stood up. Most likely, I had woken up earlier and smashed the clock. With a start, I remembered that today was a school day and my clock being smashed meant that it had already woken me up...

With a shout I dashed down the stairs and swung myself around the stair railing. Looking at the clock on the microwave, I saw that it was only 7:45. That gives me 15 minutes. Welp, more time then normal. Running back upstairs, I throw on a pair of jeans and my favorite Midtown tech hoodie. Grabbing my school bag, I run out the door. Who needs breakfast, anyway?

I run up the school steps and into the front hall. Heading to my locker, I see Ned.

"Hey! How are you?" we do our super-secret-handshake-of-awesomeness as we grab our stuff.

"I'm fine." I respond. "A bit tired, as I got home at 12:00, but otherwise I'm good. Need a new clock though."

Ned laughed. "Excited for your first day at the internship?"

I freeze. "Holy shiitake mushrooms, that's today!!"

Ned gives me an incredulous look. "How can you forget?! This is super important!"

I sigh, shaking my head. Now that I remember, my nerves are back. In less than 7 hours, I will be standing in the lobby of one of the most famous buildings in New York. alone. Me, puny Peter Parker.

"I should be fine. I'll just text may and take the subway to the tower instead."

He shakes his head. "I have no clue how you are not freaking out now, but you do you. Anyways, did you hear about..."

Drifting off into my thoughts, I tone Ned out. We get to class, thankfully on time, without any problems. First period is math with Mrs. Dodds.

Sitting next to Mj, in my usual seat, I try to calm down. Hopefully Parker's luck will take a break for today.

~(TIME SKIP TO THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY)~

I walk out of the science classroom, heading to my locker. After I grab my stuff, I walk over to Ned who is waiting for me by the exit.

"You ready to go?" he asks, handing me my book. I must have forgotten it again.

"Yeah. I think so." I respond, even though my nerves are getting worse with each passing moment.

We walk across the schoolyard, and part ways once we get to the exit.

"Bye Peter! Text me after!

I sigh. Today is going to be crazy.

~(TIME SKIP TO AFTER THE SUBWAY RIDE)~

Getting off the subway, I walk across the street to the tower. My breath is taken away by it. The giant building is glittering in the afternoon light, and I can see people walking around inside. Talking a deep breath, I open the door and step inside.

Unsure of what to do, I kind of stand there awkwardly in the lobby, turning red. One receptionist looks up from her computer and asks "How may I help you?"

A bit flustered, I walk over to her. "I-I-I I'm here for the internship?"

She gives me an incredulous look, then asks "Name?"

"Oh-oh, Peter Parker ma'am."

Typing it into her computer, she looks up, surprised. "Well, Mr. Parker, here is your badge."
