Peter PoV:

Because of the internship, I had been seeing Aunt May less and less. Between her early shifts before I woke up and me spending afternoons at the tower, our time together was restricted to dinner time only.

With a quick three-day weekend coming up, May decided that we would do "Family bonding."

Bonding, in our small family, can mean two things.

One, watching all the movies we watched with Ben, while eating popcorn and drinking soda all day. This option was my favorite, as we got to stay inside.

The second option was a lot more rare. Behind Oscorp, on the other side of the city, is a huge stretch of woods. According to May, these are the perfect woods for camping. We have never had the chance to go before, due to May having shifts over the weekends, but this time would be different.

Since I ate over at the tower with Mr. Stark, Dr. Strange sir and Nat two days a week, and I had a small paycheck, we had enough money left over for my Aunt to take a few days off of work.

I figured that she would just treat herself to a fancy dinner, maybe take a nice walk around the city, but she insisted that we go camping,

Even if the outdoors are not my strong suit, May seems so excited. It would be a nice experience, and the weather was supposed to be perfect. I can give it a try. For May. For our family.

~(TIME SKIP TO THE NEXT WEEKEND)~

(I just dropped my chromebook on my face and it hurts-)

The weekend had finally approached, and we were set to leave today. We had been packing and planning for the entire week, from campsites to food and supplies. On our fridge was a list of activities and emergency procedures.

We had rented out a cabin in the northern stretch of the words, closer to Oscorp in case something happened. It was a tiny structure, with an A-frame and a loft. The two of us would share the one bed, and there was enough kitchen to make actual meals.

As far as we were concerned, nothing bad could happen.

After we loaded our stuff in the trunk of our small car, including a plastic bin of food supplies, we got in for the 30 minute drive.

~(WOW IM DOING A LOT OF TIMESKIPS)~

Once we arrived at the cabin and brought our stuff inside, we flopped down on the worn out couch, facing the sliding glass doors with an impressive view of the woods stretching out in front of us.

"Well, Peter, welcome to the great outdoors!" May cheered. I laughed along with her, and he lapsed into a comfortable silence. Outside, birds flew by without a care in the world.

~(SKIPPITY SKIP AGAIN)~

Today, we had multiple activities on the list. A tour guide at the nearby wildlife center had posted the best trail routes in the woods, and May and I planned to hike down on of the longer ones.

We packed two backpacks with first aid kits, bug spray, and of course sandwiches. We had picked out a spot on the map that was supposed to have a great view and everything.

After consulting the map one more time, we lifted our backpacks and left the house.

Walking along the path in silence, we watched the nature around us sing and move. Pointing out the occasional patch of mushrooms, or an oddly colored leaf, we were having a great time. At around noon, we finally reached the glen we were going to eat at.

As expected, the view was incredible. There was a perfect vista (a vista is like a view that goes straight down with little obstacles) stretching down to a lake. Flying by were ducks and birds, and chipmunks darted across the area.

Taking a bite from my peanut butter sandwich, I breathe in the fresh air. May sits on a rock besides me. Humming softly to herself. I recognize the song as the one she sang when I was little, and begin humming along with her.

She turns to me, surprised I still remember, and I smile softly.

Both of us are too concentrated on the view to notice the oddly colored spider sneaking up on them. A spider that scientists at Oscorp are freaking out about it's absence.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my first cliffhanger! I'm so proud of my self! Even if you guys hate me now!

BTW, I have no update schedule whatsoever, and I tend to write chapters during school hours and post them after.

Thanks to everyone who bothers to read this!
