Chapter Four: Menstrual Cycle

"Sasuke, get ready for today's mission." Mikoto greeted her son's sleeping figure. Her feet padded across the room as she pulled the curtains up, allowing the bright sunlight stream into his bedroom. She listens to the young Uchiha groaning in consciousness.

It was only nine in the morning, though in a rare occasion like this, Sasuke felt utterly shitty and craved for another slumber. He didn't mind the mornings—no, he can wake up as early as he wanted to. However, he was reminded of the incident from yesterday with his female companion. And he instantly felt sick to the stomach.

"Leave me be," Sasuke decided stubbornly, pulled the sheets above his head. "I'm not going."

"Sasuke," His mother began as she sat beside him. "I don't know what happened yesterday...but don't you think you should go up to her and apologize today?"

He chose not to respond. He remembered vividly about yesterday's happenings. 'Stupid hormones. Stupid Hormone Monster.' Sasuke thought to himself. He chants endless curses to himself of how idiotic of him to masturbate in his own bathroom while his pinkette teammate was in his abode. He could've done it after she left, he wished he should've settled on releasing his stress when Sakura wasn't present. However, the young Uchiha couldn't contain himself any longer... especially after they almost shared their first kiss. But he didn't knew any better.

Mikoto gave him a comforting smile and says, "You really like her, huh?"

Rapidly, Sasuke's head shot up, looking at his mother stunned yet mortified by her assumption.

He was about to retort but Mikoto grazed a grin across her face, expecting his reaction. "I finally got your attention."

Her son's face blushes and dives into his pillow, concealing his humiliation. "Enough with the jokes, Mother."

"Sorry, dear. I couldn't help it," she giggles at the sight of her son's face. "I'm sure Sakura-Chan will understand once you apologize."

If only his mother knew what he did yesterday, he doubts that she'll ever forgive him. "This is entirely different. You wouldn't understand." He muffled into his pillow. "Just leave me alone."

"Though, hiding yourself in the dark and avoiding her is not going to resolve things, is it Sasuke?" Mikoto perceived she is right by the boy being unresponsive. On any occasion as she offers Sasuke some advice, the young Uchiha is always silent but indeed an excellent listener. She knows him all too well. Mikoto plants a reassuring hand on his shoulder and says, "Sasuke, look at me."

Moments passed until he eventually gave in, listening to his mother he slowly lifts his head to face her.

"Anyone can make mistakes. That's why we give apologies for our wrong doings, particularly to the ones we truly care about. And I can tell the way you look at her, you care about this girl." Mikoto provided him a comfortable smile. "She's someone very precious to you."

"It's not like that at all." Sasuke retorts, facing the other way.

"Well whether it is or not, she's still your close friend," she mentions. "And I'm sure even for you, you do not want to break that friendship now, do you?"

The guilt hit the pit in his stomach. The Uchiha boy undoubtedly knows his companion won't ever forget the incident from the previous events. But...will she forgive him? Not when the whole situation was so misunderstood—what would Sakura be like today? Would she pretend nothing happened? Ignore him? How the hell was he supposed to deal with it now?! Though, Sasuke couldn't allow to reckon their friendship. He refused to end it there. He would need to search for the right words and the time to approach the pinkette.
