Two years later...

Paridhi paced in the living room, as she actively ignored the TV that was blaring Darshan's song in front of her.
"Calm down Pari. You are being irrational. It's just a song. And he was acting." Preeti tried to calm her down as Paridhi stopped pacing and glared at the kissing scene being displayed on the TV.
"But it seems so real. I am sure he is fed up of me. Look at me, I look so fat and ugly." Paridhi argued miserably as she carefully sat down on the couch.
"I am sure he has started to like that...Shreya. They spent so many days together, rehearsing and doing god knows what other things. He always refused to even let me see the rehearsal." Paridhi continued as she tried to control the overwhelming emotions she felt. Preeti sighed in defeat.
"Pari dear... he was trying to surprise you. This song...he has dedicated it to you and your love-story. Think of that, before jumping to conclusions. You know he loves you. Don't let your hormones make you go crazy." Preeti reasoned.
Paridhi sighed as she put a hand on her stomach, rubbing the spot where the baby had just kicked her from inside.
"He's kicking again. I wonder why he is soo excited today." She muttered and Preeti put her hand on Paridhi's stomach to feel her best friend's baby rotating in circles inside.
"Hmm...He is really active today. More than usual." Preeti noted and Paridhi nodded, rubbing her seven-months-pregnant belly.
"If Darshan loved me, he would have done something today. It seems he has forgotten that today is our second wedding anniversary." Paridhi said, miserable again. Preeti rolled her eyes. "Parii..stop behaving like a child. He has already wished you, he even posted on social media and he announced at the time of the release of the song this morning that the song was his gift to you. I know your hormones are driving you crazy, but try to think rationally. He has done so much for you today, don't hurt him by staying angry at him." Preeti tried to reason, and though Paridhi understood, she just couldn't understand why she was feeling so extreme emotions.
She knew, as Preeti had mentioned, that this was a result of pregnancy hormones. But she couldn't help but feel anger boiling inside her when she saw Darshan romance with some other girl on the screen. She knew it was all acting, she knew Darshan loved her, she knew that she loved him too. But she was soo irritated for no reason at all. Preeti, who had come to visit her best friend left after an hour of trying to console Paridhi.
"You will be fine?" Preeti asked as she got up to leave and Paridhi nodded.
"Don't fight with Darshan when he comes back. He has done so much for you, try to be understanding." Preeti warned for the last time and Paridhi huffed in annoyance.
"Fine." She said and slammed the door shut as soon as Preeti was gone. She moped around, feeling miserable for an hour before finally Darshan finished his work and came home.
"Jaan, see I brought you the cheesecake you were craving for." Darshan said as he removed his shoes and put them away. He almost dropped the box of cheesecake when he turned around and came face-to-face with a glaring Paridhi. The sight was so comical for him, Paridhi, who barely reached his shoulders, was standing there, one hand on her stomach and other on her back, glaring at him. He chuckled, but stopped smiling abruptly when Paridhi narrowed her eyes.
"Jaan?" Darshan questioned as he extended his hand, offering her the box of cheesecake. Paridhi glanced down at the box before looking up at him again.
"Why are you giving it to me? Jao uss..Shreya ko do na."
"What?" Darshan was genuinely confused. "Why would I give it to Shreya? Craving to tumhe ho rahi thi na?" He asked as Paridhi looked away from him.
"Ha but me kon hoti hu? Aapko to Shreya jyada pasand hai na? Jao usi ke pass chale jao." She huffed, irritated and Darshan frowned.
"Kya bol rahi ho? Mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha. Why would I go to Shreya? You are my wife." Darshan placed the cheesecake box on the table and turned around to face Paridhi. "Jaan? Kuch hua hai kya? Why are you upset?" He asked, looking into her eyes with concern.
"Upset? Who is upset? I am just saying that if you are bored of me, you should just say so. No need to hide what you feel for Shreya from me." Paridhi shrugged.
"What? Shreya kaha se beech me aa gayi? I.." Suddenly understanding dawned upon Darshan as he noticed his song playing on the TV.
"Ooh, so you are upset about that. Look Paridhi, that was all acting. I didn't even touch her. You can ask her next time you meet her." Darshan explained patiently. Paridhi avoided his eyes determinedly.
"Look, no need to lie. If you like Shreya, just say so. I will understand." She said, trying to control tears in her eyes.
"What? Pari are you even listening to yourself? Why would I like Shreya? I love you." Darshan told, trying to control his irritation.
"Darshan, you just have to admit. No need to lie for my sake. I will divorce you if you need. I will even allow you to meet the baby after it is born. I can resume my job after he is born. You don't need to sacrifice for our baby. I just..." Paridhi rambled on while Darshan stared at her with wide eyes.
"Parii..Pagal ho gayi ho kya tum? You know what...mujhe ye argument karni hi nahi hai. Tumhe jo sochna hai socho." Darshan snapped and Paridhi glared at him.
"Ha to mujhe bhi koi shauk nahi hai aapse argue karne ka. Aapki bhalai ke liye hi bol rahi thi." She shot back and Darshan clenched his hand.
"Ha, mujhe bada shauk hai na tumse argue karne ka. Aur kitni baar kahu, mujhe uss Shreya me koi interest nahi hai. I love you and only you. Why would you even think about divorce?" He asked, barely controlling his anger.
"Ha to aur kya karu Darshan? What do I do when I see you look so good and happy with her? You are always away on your tours, you have your music, your work. And what do I have? I just sit at home doing nothing. Dimag me har waqt kaise kaise khayal aate rehte hai." Paridhi ranted and Darshan sighed.
"I have to work Pari, for you, for our baby. I cannot sit at home doing nothing. And you need to rest in this condition." He told her calmly and Paridhi huffed in annoyance.
"You have no idea how much I get bored while sitting at home. Aapke pass aapka music hai, kam hai, mere pass kya hai? Ye pet?" She asked gesturing to her swollen belly.
"Ye pet nahi, humara baby hai." Darshan said with a straight face, but Paridhi could see that he was trying not to laugh. This irritated her more.
"Ha ha haslo mere upar. Aapka kya hai? Aap to ghumte firte rehte ho. Meri haalat aapko kaise pata chalegi. Kitna baithna padta hai bas mujhe." Paridhi snapped.
"Ha to kisne kaha hai itna baithne ko. Tum bhi ghumo firo." Darshan replied and Paridhi glared at him.
"Yaha mere chalna firna mushkil ho raha hai, aur aap mujhe ghumne ko keh rahe ho? Meri ye haalat na aapki wajah se hai. Aapko kya pata itne bade pet ke saath kaisa lagta hai." She argued back, while Darshan struggled to maintain a straight face.
"Ha to mera utna bada pet hota to pata chalta na." He said and broke into a grin. "Jaan, suno na. Look I know you are irritated, but I swear I don't like that Shreya. I love you and our baby. I don't care about anyone else." He said, soothingly and put his arms around her gently, careful not to put any weight on her.
He kissed her neck and started humming the song, "Hum tere bin ab reh nahi sakte, tere bina kya wajood mera. Tujhse Juda agar ho jayenge to khud se hi ho jayenge juda. Kyuki tum hi ho, ab tum hi ho. Zindagi ab tum hi ho, Chain bhi, mera dard bhi, meri aashiqui ab tum hi ho." Paridhi was reminded of that night when he had sung this song for her in his concert, when he had proposed her for marriage. So much had happened since then, they had gotten married and two years had passed. But now as she heard Darshan sing the same song, she realized nothing had changed, Darshan still loved her the same, even more since she had gotten pregnant. She realized that she had been stupid to doubt his love. She sighed and reached up to kiss him.
"I am sorry. I was just...irritated. And I guess I was a bit insecure. I am sorry for snapping at you like that. I love you." She whispered against his lips and he kissed her again before speaking.
"I know jaan, I know. I cannot say I understand, because obviously I am not pregnant and I haven't experienced anything like this, but I know that these are you wild hormones speaking. Just remember that you were, are, and will be my only love. Forever."
