Chapter 6- Entrance Exams

IZUKU POV

I woke up on the morning of the entrance exam to Kacchan shanking my shoulders. "Morning..." I grumble out.

"C'mon sleepyhead it's the entrance exams today." He said placing a kiss on my temple. I lazily get up and put on my middle school uniform. By the time I arrive at the campfire to breakfast, everyone is already there waiting for food.

"Morning everyone!" The pack replies with a sleepy chorus of mornings. Mom soon dishes up some fried vegetables and chicken. We spend the duration of breakfast chatting and talking about what we expect in the exam.

Once we're all finished we start to head off to the edge of camp waving goodbye to mom, Momo and setsuna who took the recommendation exams. Kacchan throws his arm over my shoulder as we walk into the city and through the busy streets.

Once we reach the gates most of us are hand in hand with our mates and are feeling nervous energy overtake us. I glance around to my pack and nod to them as we step onto the UA campus. 

The gateway is very busy so we don't stand out by staying in this big group. We head in and to the written exam hall. Once there we see Eraserhead sitting at the front waiting for the students to sit down. I wish my pack good luck and head over to my seat.

"You've got an hour and a half." Eraser said monotonously. Soon the hall was filled with the scratching of pencils and concentrated expressions. I don't think I did too bad as the test was just stuff we did in middle school. I'm a tad worried for Denki though because he struggles with math and the math portion was big.

We all exit the hall after handing in our papers and meet in the courtyard. We have a lunch break before the practical test. We all find a nice spot under a large oak and start to eat. A few student are walking around but apart from that it's just us.

I sit leaning against Kacchans chest and everyone else seems to be in similar situations with there mates. "What did you guys think of the maths section?" I ask halfway through lunch. "I mean it was pretty hard but I think momo's study sessions really helped!" Denki says.

Phew

We continue with lunch before heading to the practical hall hand in hand.  Luckily we're all sat next to each other and manage to sit before the last of the students filter in. I lean my head on Kacchans shoulder as we wait for the teacher to come and explain the exam.

"Can I get a YEAAAH!" Mic screamed as he bust through the door. Most of the pack members flinched at the sudden noise.

"Ok! This exam will be super cool as you guys will be facing off against ROBOTS! They all have different point values and there are four..." at this point I stopped listening as I could smell distress pheromones coming from two of my pack members.

I look to Kacchan to see that he noticed too. He gave me a nod and I left my seat to follow the smell. I eventually arrived to see Himiko and Hitoshi at the start of a panic attack, where eyes wide and breathing shallow. Their mates attempting to silently comfort them.

I walked up to the two and took their hands in mine. They immediately calmed down realising their pack leader was there and there breathing slowed. "What's wrong? What happened?" I asked, concern coating my voice. "The robots won't work with our quirks." Himiko said tears in her eyes.

"That's fine, that's okay. Just try your best, and if that doesn't work I'm certain you'll get in through the sports festival. You two are very strong and will be great hero's have no doubt about it!" I say in my most encouraging voice. 

They both nod, much calmer and more determined. I turn and am almost back at my seat when...

"...and you!" A guy with blue hair says pointing at me. "You just stood up, and we're talking during this entire meeting. If your just here to distract others then leave!"

"I was helping my friend, and last I checked your being more distracting here!" I said suppressing a growl.

"Thanks for the question examiner ..." present mic goes on to answer exam questions as I sit next to Kacchan again as he wraps his arm around me. The guy from the front sends a glare towards us.

Soon we're all filtering off and going to our own exam sites. Sadly only Ochako and Hanta and Itsuka are at the same test site as me.

We stand at the back of the group and wait for the gates to open. 

"I just wanted to say your behaviour in the hall was very rude and inappropriate!" The glasses guy from earlier said while doing arm chopping motions. I opened my moth to say something but was quickly interrupted by a loud "GO!". 

We all ran into the exam hall and began destroying robots. My pack members and I worked in sync, used to hunting together, making our team quickly gain points. We were in the middle of the main road in the failed city when...

BOOM!

A large zero pointer appeared out of nowhere. It took little to no time to tell that one of my pack members were hurt by my wolf screaming in my head. "Ochako!" I yelled looking for her in the rock. I soon spotted her her leg trapped under rubble. Her ankle looked broken. The robot was close to crushing her.

"Itsuka lift the rubble and help her out! Hanta use your rave to set her ankle until recovery girl gets here! I'm going to destroy the fucking robot that hurt my pack." I growled the last part and watched as my pack members jumped into action.

I used OFA and jumped until I was about at the shoulder of the gigantic boy. I used black whip to wrap around the wires in the boys neck and pull them out. The huge machine sparked and fell backwards heaving up a cloud of dust. I land with a roll and run to check Ochako.

"Times Up!" A voice yells as I reach her side. "Are you ok? Are all of you ok?" I asked worriedly to them. "'Course Zu just waiting for Ochako's ankle to be fixed and we can go." Hanta said as relaxed as always.

"Coming through! Coming through!" A voice yells from inside the crowd. Soon recovery girl emerges from the forest of legs and tuts at her broken ankle.

She places a kiss on her forehead and hands her a packet of gummy bears. "There you go deary all healed up! You might be a bit tired so take it easy!" Recovery girl said as she moved onto the next person.

My pack and I helped her to her feet and to the changing room where Itsuka took her inside and me and Hanta went to change in the male changing room. When I entered I was tackled in a hug from a speeding blonde.

Once I'm free from his arms we all change and head to the gate to meet with the others. When we arrive we see the others hand in hands with their mates and Ochako getting a piggyback ride from Himiko. Luckily there were only a few students left milling around, one looked like a bird and one had six arms.

We all headed back to camp and immediately breathed a sigh of relief when we could half transform and take our shoes off again. It just feels unnatural.

~two weeks later~

"I am here! To give you the exam results." Yagi says entering the camp site. Within seconds the whole pack is around the fire awaiting there results.

Everyone got into UA but sadly Himiko and Hitoshi got into 1F general studies. They still are hopeful for the sports festival though. Itsuka, Yui, Ibara, Setsuna and Monoma all got into 1b and the rest of us are in 1a. We spend the night dancing around the fire and celebrating our results.
