3rd POV

Dinner was boring, it wasn't exiting either, but today was spaghetti with a side of drama.

"Marinette, what happened today?" Tikki asked the girl who just stared at her food

"Nothing Tikki don't worry about it, nothing bad happened" Mari told her, avoiding her gaze and picking her food silently. The rest were just seated in silence, eating their food as well and watching the scene unfold before their eyes.

"What do you mean bad? I know you got chased by Officer Rodger and his team. What did you guys do?" She asked again looking at their faces carefully though she aimed the question at Marinette who just held an emotionless gaze at her food and kept quiet.

"Yes but we didn't get caught. Besides it not like we harmed anyone, it was just harmless graffiti!" Mari said raising her voice slightly even though she didnt mean to. Tikki already knew what was going down and just did what she needed

"I know it's harmless Marinette, honestly I won't even stop you guys, as long as you don't hurt anyone" Tikki told her and continued eating her food calmly like nothing happened. Mari on the other hand lost all her appetite and chose to leave the table.

"Marinette where are you going? If you want to leave you need to observe manners" Tikki reprimanded her and the rebel turned back with a scowl

"I'm sorry. Excuse me I'm going to bed and I've lost all my appetite. Please don't follow me" she said through gritted teeth and clenched fists and stomped off to her room and slammed the door, as the rest looked at each other in shock.

"*Sigh* lets just give her space and time. I'm sure she'll get over it" Tikki sighed and they nodded and continued eating.

Maris POV

I slammed the door to my room after entering, then slid down the door and sat on the floor to think. The only people who knew the real reason I became this, a rebel with a tough attitude, were Tikki and my gang. As well as my mother. I hated thinking about it, it always brought pain. But every time Im alone I find myself drifting to the past like I was doing now.

My father was a huge man, to everyone he was sweet and kind. But my mum and I knew he wasn't. He always insulted us, beat us and did a lot of other mean things. He hated the way I used to be before, weak, too sweet and everything. He wanted me to be tough and mighty, like he was. And we couldn't do anything to stop him. My mum... She just endured it all silently because she still loved us, and she was also a rebel in her prime. Me... What did you expect, that an 8 year old girl would be able to stand up to her father with her puppy eyes? No way. We kept on living like that, I still believed somewhere in my heart that he loved us, truth was I looked up to him and admired his character, but I couldnt be like him, I was too sweet and weak...

Then came that day, that day that etched in her memory and haunted her.

The day her father, died...

She was devastated, not just because someone she loved and looked up to in spite of everything just passed on, but because she couldn't do the simple thing he wanted

To toughen up and follow in his footsteps

That of a cold-hearted rebel.

After the burial, her mum tried to move on without him, she eventually did, but it pained her. She on the other hand became distant and cold, and she vowed to herself that she would be everything he wanted her to be.

She stopped being nice. She became cold and mean...

She stopped wearing pink. Nope, she stuck to black and red...

She disrespected everyone and trained herself, to toughen up and accept pain, to be cold-hearted and ruthless.

But she kept her humanity and sanity intact.

She made friends, but only the ones she knew she could trust and understood her

First she met Kagami and Juleka, they were still young then. Even while her father was alive. Kagami was the type who was determined and brave, and was a person of character. She was mean at first, but when Mari warmed her way into her heart, she couldnt resist. She even treated her like a princess.

Then came Juleka, the shy, reserved and quiet Goth. That girl could be in a room and go unnoticed, she didnt like talking, except she was comfortable. Mari and Gami met her and they all became friends. They loved her calm nature, and her explosive aggressiveness when she became angry.

Then they met her brother, he being the calm, musical and handsome genius. Luka protected them like he did his own sis, and they all loved him too. He learnt of Mari's tale and like Gami and Jules, he also accepted her entire personality with open arms and support.

Then Alix and Kim joined soon later. Those two were always competing and arguing, but were still best friends beneath. Alix, the pink haired tomboy that was a master skater and could keep your secret for years without blurting it out. Kim, the athlete who could keep up with a power bike and was the type who loved a challenge. They all met at a competition when Mari, Juleka and Alix were 10, Gami and Kim 11 and Luka being 12.

The six of them stuck to Mari and each other like glue, and became the best of friends. It was no surprise to her mother when they secretly became a rebel gang, the Miraculous Gang. They spray-painted the place, made a lot of pranks and even injured some people, when they deserved it. They had gone to jail twice for a few days and those days had effects...

She became more cold-hearted and decided the only things that mattered to her life,

Her mum and Tikki, her family

Her friends, who understood her pain and stuck with her, and some other certain friends

And her ambition to fulfil her father's desire

She shut out everyone else. Her secret designing website was shut down a long time ago by her, the one and only MDC. She loved designing, no doubt, but she only did it for business and her friends. She was already richer than her mother, they knew that, but she saved the money and didn't spend it.

She continued her lifestyle the way she planned, only to trust the people she could tolerate. Her behavior in Paris was just the tip of the Iceberg, they didn't know the real her

Yet...

But she didn't know if she wanted to show them, but she would, she had to. She wouldn't give into feelings anymore, they were pointless.

She couldn't love anyone, and she knew it

She discovered she couldn't stand close contact that long, except from family and friends.

From there on I made a decision,

I won't fall for anyone, and get my heart broken like mum. I'll protect my family and friends, and be what my father always wanted,

A cold-hearted Rebel...
