The two shadow men sat leaning against the door, chests lifting irregularly with their heavy breathing and the floor of the room was smeared with blood. Their heavy breathing was the only sound in the now silent room, even if it seemed to them like the loudest room in this castle.
Wooyoung laughed in exhaustion, "now I know why they were all afraid of Blut Mond."He raised his hand and wiped the blood that was dripping from his forehead, but San stared only at the being's corpse. He did not recognise it. That one night, when it felt like they had to protect Blood Moon, they were deceived. Not only by Blood Moon, but also by Mingi. He just left them like that, without even hesitating.
"Don't take all this too seriously, and don't worry your head about it." Wooyoung patted him on the shoulder but San hardly moved. San leaned his head against the door and sighed deeply.
"We should not have trusted him. He was not on our team from the beginning, what did we think?""I have no idea. But what we can do now is to try our best and warn the others." Wooyoung stood up and held out his hand to San. But San just looked at him confused.
"And how are you going to get out of here?" he asked, whereupon Wooyoung shrugged his shoulders."There will be a way, there is always a way. Just because we've been put out of action doesn't mean we have to lose yet," Wooyoung's words were motivating, calm and free. Even after he was betrayed, he thought positively and continued to focus on his goal. San reached for his hand and stood up.
A few corridors away, the other trio was searching another room. The corridor they had chosen had many more rooms. The lights were on in every room and the search was useless in every room, as they always left empty-handed. But even here the corridor seemed unusually long. Longer than one would have thought after seeing the building from outside.
Jongho sat tiredly on a chair.
"I think this is pointless. We've been looking for so long, why should we go on," he supported his head with one hand, his arm resting on one of the many dark brown tables scattered throughout the elongated room.Seonghwa who was not far away from him slammed one of the many books shut. The rows of shelves in this room seemed to be something like a library, even if the room was not too big.
"We should not leave any of the rooms out, no matter how long we have to search." His voice was covered by books falling to the floor.Seonghwa and Jongho turned to Yeosang, who was holding a single book, and in front of him stood an empty bookshelf, and the books that had been neatly placed on the shelf in front of him were now lying on the dirty floor.
"Are you okay?" Jongho asked, but Yeosang did not answer.Seonghwa and Jongho looked at each other in confusion for a moment but then went over to him. Only when Jongho touched Yeosang's upper arm did the latter react. His widened eyes closed a little and he blinked a few times. Seonghwa frowned as he saw the glassy eyes of the third.
"Did you see that too?" he asked and kept staring at the empty shelf. The other two just shook their heads in confusion.
"No, what are you talking about?" Seonghwa asked and put his free hand on Yeosang's shoulder blade. He rubbed small circular figures over the smaller one's shoulders, hoping to distract him a little from whatever he had seen.
Yeosang looked at the book in his hand. The binding was dark blue, the writing white and squiggly, and on the cover a small boy looking at an old tree. He could not read what the title said, because even if he could not explain why, the text on and in the book was blurred and unreadable to him.The only thing he could read was the publication date; 2020.
Just the thought of this future gave him a headache.
"That bright light, didn't you see it?" he asked the other two.
But they did not know what he was talking about.
