"What secret? Where do I even start? This place is huge!"

Kota stopped for a moment to choose a path.

"Left. Right? Ugh, quit overthinking! Eri needs you!"

He chose to enter the room on his left.

When he walked in, the room had four people. Each one wearing a bird mask. Each one standing around a chair. None of them noticing the boy who was in the doorway.

Kota carefully took a closer look, trying to stay away from the men in the masks.

A girl. A little girl with white hair was in the chair.

Without a second thought, Kota started screaming at the men.

"Hey! What are doing! That's a kid!"

The men in masks turned to face Kota. Then vanished. They didn't run or attack. They just disappeared.

Kota looked at the girl in the chair. No more than four years old. She wasn't crying. She was staring at the floor, singing. How could someone hurt this little angel?

"So, before you go. Was there something I could've said-"

"That's the same song..." Kota mumbled.

A boy made his way into the room. He never even acknowledged Kota.

When the boy got to chair with the girl he started talking to her.

"Hey, princess! I'm sorry I couldn't stop them. You know how they are. But I promise I'll get you out of here one day, eri! I promise!"

"Eri!"

The boy and little girl looked up at Kota and disappeared. Just like the men in masks.

"What the hell?

~time skip~

"Oh, calm down! I promised I wouldn't hurt you! Now quit crying!"

Eri sat on the cold floor, metal chains on her wrist.

"I'm sorry..."

"Yeah, you better be! I've given up everything for you! And you know where that got me? Alone! But you know what, you little bitch? I'm fine now. I broke him out."

A figure emerged from the shadows.

"Hi, eri! Did you miss me?"

Eri's eyes shot open. She thought she was safe. That he would never come back.

But here he was.

Kai Chisaki.
