I roll over expecting Colby to be there, I open my eyes to see a note "I'll be back in a bit, love you" the note said, I sigh and rub my face I wonder where he went, after a while of scrolling through Instagram I heard the front door open, I smile and get up going to the kitchen, "Hey" I say entering the kitchen "Hey" Colby responds, i see bags there was bottles in them "Um what did you get" I ask going over to the bags, I look inside to see two Fireball bottles, I look up at him and he shrugs "It's just a one time thing" he says, he never drinks and if he does it's only wine nothing hard core like this, he goes over to the cabinet grabbing a cup, he fills it up with ice then pours the alcohol in it "Colbs I don't think this is a healthy way to cope with your pain" I say taking the drink from him "Aw come on it's just a little bit" he pouts "Please" he begs giving me big eyes "Fine" I hand him the cup he smiles and runs to the
couch I watched as he sipped on the alcohol, scrunching his nose every time he would swallow it then my phone goes off, it was Jake.

J- Hey

S- Hi

J- What are you up to

S- Nothing, what about you

J- Just watching tv I got bored

S- Lmao, ya I'm bored to

J- Where's Colby?

S- Right in front of me, why

J- Oh just asking, he seemed mad earlier

S- His mom passed, and he's having a rough time

"Sam" Colby whispers sitting next to me "Yes" I look at him "Can I go out tonight" he asks I could smell the alcohol on his breath "Where to" I question "The bar" he reply's kissing my cheek "I don't know" I say unsure, he gives me big eyes "Please" he begs flashing his eye lashes "Fine take an Uber and be back by 12" I place a kiss to his lips "Ok I will love you" he says running out the door "Love you too" I whisper after the front door closed, I pull out my phone and call Jake "Hey sam" he answers "Hey I was wondering if you want to come over" i ask "Yea sure I'll be over in a bit text me your address" he says "Ok see you bye" I hang up and text him my address, after a while there was I knock on the door I open it to see Jake "Hey" I say letting him in, he looks around "Wheres Colby" he asks "Um bar" I mumble not wanting to talk about it "That's not good for him" he chuckles slightly "I tried to tell him" I speak he just nods his head and sits in the Couch.
My mind kept drifting off to Colby, I wonder if he's ok "Sam" Jake yells "Huh" I respond confused "Are you ok, you keep zoning out" he chuckles shaking his head "I'm worried about Colby" I mumble "I'm pretty sure he's ok" Jake try's to comfort me "He's in pain, he never drinks and when he does it's only wine, he never goes out without me, he's hurting badly" I speak tears brimming my eyes "Come here" he opens his arms I fall into them and start to sob loudly.
After a while of crying I pull away from his tight embrace "I'm sorry" I wipe my tears "Don't apologize" he says rubbing my back I check the time to see it was already 1 am "he was suppose to be home by 12" I say pointing at the time "Maybe he's just running an hour late" Jake said I just shrug with a sigh the front door swings open making me jump up, Colby stumbled into the house drunk "Colby" I run over to him catching him from falling "Hi my love" he chuckle kissing my forehead "Let's go lay down" I grab his hand and help him over to our room laying him down "I'm so fucked up" he laughs I just sigh and sit on the bed "I feel so numb" he mumbles before falling asleep, I shake my head feeling tears come to my eyes, I wipe them away Before going back to the living room "Sorry about that" I told Jake "No it's ok, I think it's my time to go" he says "Alright see you later" I awkwardly say "Ya bye" he leave I flop on the couch closing my eyes with a sigh.
