The five female vigilantes darted across the rooftops of New York like slick rats across the filthy alleyways, each of them keeping their eyes forward towards the target they sought. Little did they know that their team wasn't quite complete just yet.
"Are you sure you know where you're going?" Asked Karai to April as they stopped for a minute panting, "Because it seems like we've been jumping on random rooftops with no sign of the TCRI base anywhere in radar." "You may want to hold that thought for a moment Karai, the sceptre has been picking something up, we may be being followed", said Renet nervously glancing at the sceptre which was glowing incessantly. "Huh, it can time travel AND it can sense the surroundings?" Shinigami sniggered, " a bit overpowered for a clumsy fangirl don't you think-
"Silence!" Interrupted Mona Lisa. Then in a more hushed voice added, "Renet's right, were being followed." Just as the words escaped her lips, a shadow appeared on the rooftop and moved swiftly past the group. The girls turned around with their weapons out, alert and ready. "Who are you?!" Karai yelled, her katana swords out at the ready, "you can't hide from us, Show yourself!"
At that moment, a blurred shape moved at exemplary speed, knocking Karai to the ground. "Karai!" Shini yelled running to her. She looked around angrily for the stranger. "Well, it certainly is a surprise to see you all here" a voice said elegantly from the shadows. "I was expecting a larger entourage instead of some amateur kunoiche posers." The figure emerged from the shadows. A small orange fox mutant wearing shades of purple and lilac, with two axe blades in hands. "Alopex?" April breathed, a tome of shock in her voice. "You know this mutant?" Shini asked while kneeling by Karai's side. "Id much prefer if you DIDN'T CALL ME A MUTANT!" Snapped Alopex, lunging towards Karai's unconscious body. "Oh no you don't!" Said Mona sliding in the way with her plasma sword. Alopex then attempted to run to Mona's side, but was stopped by Shini's chain wrapped around her leg, pulling and tripping her sending her flat on her stomach. April then came at her with her Tanto sword, but Alopex quickly stopped it with her axe blade, knocking it out of her hand. She stood up and grabbed the chain around her leg, and ran along the roof with Shinigami still holding onto the end struggling. "How can a mutant so small be so speedy I wonder!" Shini jeered from the end of the chain. "Why you weak little-AGH!" Alopex yelled as Renet came at her with an punch from her energy knuckles, "maybe you should pick on someone your own size!" Renet said proudly. "Because no one is that small!"Shini chimed in getting up off the ground.
Alopex was stranded on the ground with an annoyed expression on her face as the girls circled around. "Well played for youngsters", Alopex sneered, "you may have won this time, but you haven't seen what I am capable of yet. I have done far more damage to people's lives than any of you have ever done. I've just decided to play fair with you this time."
"If you're done with you're little revenge speech, maybe theres a way you could be of use to us," spoke Karai walking over to her. "Yeah, you've helped us out before, now we need your help to save our friends," added April. Alopex smiled cunningly, "depends, what's in it for me?" She said. "Retro mutagen!" Said Mona suddenly, "The turtles have the recipe for retro mutagen. The chemical that can turn a mutant back into its original state when taken. If you agree to align with us, we will give you the key to being human again." Alopex's eyes narrowed as a look of thought came over her face. She then stood up and said, "I accept your offer lizard girl,
"Actually I'm a-
"and I shall agree to help you free your friends until the mission is done. Then you must present me with the retro mutagen."
"Deal," the girls said at the same time.
"Excellent," said Alopex dusting herself off. "Now, which one of you is the leader?" The girls glanced at one another confused. Alopex placed her hands on her hips. "Very well then," she said with a sensible tone. "Then I suggest you put me in command if you wish to have your friends alive," The girls huddled up for a moment to discuss. "I don't trust this fox chic," said Karai suspiciously, "if it's the retro mutagen she's after, then she could easily just betray us and leave us to die." "Well what choice do we have, with her speed and fighting skills she could be a big help to us," Mona pointed out. "Mona Lisa is right, and besides" Renet chimed in, "she's so cute and small," she said smiling. "Yeah, she's like an angry little puppy!" Sniggered Shini elbowing her.
The girls turned around to Alopex who was tapping her food impatiently. "We accept your suggestion as leader for the mission Alopex," said April. "Excellent," smirked Alopex. "Alright, enough talk lets go, we've got some friends to save."
