The danger zone

The Van quietly zoomed around the empty dark streets with the six ladies all packed inside. They eased into the road offshore without being seen. They made their way through the abandoned or run down buildings, until they had reached their destination, the lab.
"Muscle up ladies, we're here," whispered Karai as they parked behind the building. The girls got up and stood in a circle to discuss the plan. "So, any ideas on how we're gonna save them without being caught?" April inquired. "I say we should sneak around the back of the building and slowly move up to the front. That way we'll be able to take out the remaining guards and save the others without being easily detected," suggested Mona Lisa impressively. "That's good," said Renet reassuringly, "and predictable" said Karai waving it away with her hand. " I think we'll have a better chance of finding them quicker if we sneak onto the roof of the lab, plus they won't see us as easily," said Karai. Mona rolled her eyes, "fine if you're so confident with your own plan working then I won't argue with that," said Mona, even though you could tell she didn't really mean it. "Alright, we all agreed?" Asked Alopex to the group. The girls (except her) put their hands in. "Alright ladies, lets show these men what a female can do," said Shinigami.

The group walked out of the car without making noise and slowly made their way up the wall of the building using the time sceptre's levitation powers. "Thanks Renet," said April when they landed, "come on, stay close."
They made their way across the top the building looking for a way in. "Alright there's gotta be a door around here somewhere," said Renet looking around with the others. "Guys! Over here!" She said suddenly. The ladies ran over to where Renet was standing, seeing that she had found a door to the building. Karai shook the door handle. "Locked," she said frustrated. "Allow me," said Mona Lisa stepping in, "please stand back for a moment". She took a deep breath and rammed her head against the door cracking the lock open. "Whoo! Go Mona Lisa!" Yelled April. "April, focus," said Mona shaking her head dizzily. "Oh ok, sorry," she said embarrassed.
The girls went through the door and headed through the stairwell, while keeping a close eye for guards and traps. They then came to an empty room. No guards or lab workers in sight. "Hold up guys, it's a trap room," said April using her telekinetic sense. Karai threw a hairpin into the room, and straightaway the laser field was activated. Green laser beams flooded the room blocking the exits. "Great. Those lasers are everywhere, it would be impossible for one of us the get to the exits without tripping a beam," groaned Karai. "Don't worry, this is just a simple trap," said Renet reassuringly, "we've just got to figure out a way to disable the-
WHOOSH! Before Renet could finish, Alopex sped by the team zipping through the beams effortlessly, getting to the other side and disarming the beams. "You we're saying?" She smirked.
The girls walked over to the other side and stood in front of Alopex. They did not look Impressed.
"Alopex, you just went through the lasers by yourself without even listening to Renet's plan," said Karai in a passive aggressive tone. "If we had listened to the time girls plan, we would have been here all night," Alopex replied through clenched teeth, "I got us through didn't I? That's all that matters."
"Well maybe you should at least try to think about how other people in the team feel for a change, instead of being an inconsiderate jerk!" Karai responded anger bubbling inside her. "Well, I guess that's just what makes me so great, right?" Alopex shot back, her claws out. Renet and Shini held Karai back as Mona Lisa approached Alopex, kneeling down and putting a hand on her shoulder. "Alopex, you are part of this team now," said Mona calmly but sternly, "you need to act like it."
Alopex pushed Mona's hand off of her shoulder. "I do not take orders from you, from any of you!" She said icily. "You may find the worthless mutants on your own, without my help, but you will owe the retro mutagen when the job is done." With that, she sped off without looking back, leaving the others alone. "What a bitch," said April coldly. "April!" Said Mona looking at her disapprovingly. "Forget it," said Karai walking away, "let's just keep moving, the turtles and the mutanimals need us," the others followed her close behind.
They walked through the hallways and corridors until they reached the main laboratory. They slowly opened the door as they walked onto a high stairwell, and immediately recognised the victims locked in the cages hanging from the ceiling. "Need a little help?" April whispered to them. The turtles and the mutanimals looked up from their cages. "Girls? What are you guys doing here?" Whispered Leo. The girls jumped onto the cages slowly, trying not to attract attention. "What does it look like we're doing? We're busting you guys about of here," whispered Karai as they fiddled with the locks on the cages. They managed to free them all in a matter of seconds. "Are you guys Ok?" Said Renet helping them out. "Yeah, don't worry," said Slash, "the gas that they used to weaken us must have worn off by now."
"Shini, Renet!" Yelled Mikes running over to them, "how are my two favourite ladies?" Renet and Shini looked at each other awkwardly. "We'll discuss the situation later," said Shini rolling her eyes.
"Come, we've got to get out of this building, and fast," said Mona Lisa with her hands on her hips, "I'm with her! Always..." said Raph leaning forward for a nose kiss, but Mona held his face away with her hand, "Raphael, I never thought I'd say this but we don't have time for that," she said sternly but sympathetically. "She's right," Rockwell added coming forward, "the scientists are going to be here for experimentation any min-BOOM!
Before he could finish, the lights in the laboratory went out and the team were left in darkness. When they flickered back on, they were surrounded by multiple black cloth masked men like they had carjacked in the city. "Aw grock, they really did know we were coming," groaned Renet. "Don't fret Renet," said Shinigami, "if we took them out once we can take them out again." They charged.
It was almost as if the masked men were multiplying every time, and were at the very least worthy challengers for the heroes.
But unfortunately, a challenge they still were.
"Guys! They're coming in every direction!" Said April using her telekinetic blasts to slam a few of the men against the wall.
"There's just too many of them!" Yelled Slash as two men climbed on top of his shell, unable to shake them off.
Soon even the turtles were quartered and were unfortunately sprayed with the same gas that made them weakened when they were captured. They were grabbed, and tied up by the remaining men. " I...don't...get it," said Donnie through the gas, there must be a chemical in the gas they're spraying on us that is messing with the strength in our cells."
"Well if that gas weakened all of us, then where are the girls?" Asked Leo.
The girls were still untied and unharmed. They had managed to protect Karai by April putting a telekinetic shield around them.
"I think I know why the others were affected by the gas," said Renet as the gas cleared. "The containers the men used to store the gas had the word 'anti muti-cellular' on it. Muti- cellular is when a being has the cellular structure and organisation of a mutant, which means that the chemical in the gas must be effecting the turtles and the mutanimals cell flow, making them weak."
"Wow, you sound just like Donnie," April commented. "April look out!" Yelled Karai, a laser beam hit the shield with April distracted. The shield broke, but luckily the gas chemicals were cleared out enough for no one to be harmed. April looked up disoriented, "what was that?" She asked confused, "Them," said Shini pointing the the stairway balcony.
A group of scientists were leering over them with devious grins on their faces, and though they definitely looked harmless, their vibes were certainly dangerous.
"Ah, the mutants reinforcements. We've been expecting you," said the leader, a female scientist with brown curled hair and sharp tinted glasses. She had a slender curved body which even made her look important, and on her lab coat the girls could see that her name was, Dr Lavinia Blight.
"We don't want any trouble Dr...Blight," said Karai cautiously. "Just hand over our friends and the dangerous anti mutant chemicals and no one gets hurt."
"Ha," Dr blight said grinning wickedly. "I thought you would be stronger than that, rather than just offering a lull," she snapped her fingers and the other scientists got out guns that looked like they were ordered directly from outer space.
"Hold up! Before you brutally kill us," said April desperately, " what did you want with the mutants?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Said the Doctor straightening her glasses, "I need them for research, experimentation," she said circling around them, "to see what makes them tick," she continued to circle the ladies like a lion circling its found prey. "I see potential in mutation and what it can bring to science and evolution," she continued, "your mutant companions are obviously genetically modified and capable of human language and physical skills, I see them as useful. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for you." She then reached into her lab coat and  brought out a huge 'space gun', aiming it right at the girls, and she fired.
But before the blast could hit them, a blurred shape whizzed in front, blocking it and sending it back towards her.
