Regina reached over and ran her fingers down the spine of the book. She lifted it from the table and held it, wiping the dust off the top in one smooth movement. The edges were battered and peeling, contrasting the golden lettering covering the surface.

She looked up, the light suddenly dimmed by a figure standing in the doorway. Robin. "Hope I'm not disturbing," the words rolled off his tongue as he smiled.

Regina laid the book back onto the table, unable to stop herself from smiling too. She stretched out for his hand and pulled him into the room, her eyes brightly lit with his presence. Her hands trailed down his jacket sleeve and she laced her fingers with his, squeezing gently as their palms met.

Robin lifted their interlocked hands and kissed Regina's knuckles. She let out a small laugh and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him closer. "It's nothing that can't wait," she said, looking into his blue eyes filled with amusement. She loved to see him like this, so carefree and happy.

They stood for a moment, encapsulated in each other's gaze, forgetting the rest of the world. Robins smile grew as he reached into his pocket and pulled something out. "Turn around," he said, nodding in reassurance when she furrowed her brow. "Trust me."

The words flooded out every other thought she had and she looked him in the eyes before turning her back to him.

His slender fingers brushed the top of her shoulders as he looped the thin silver chain around her neck holding a red pendant. He moved her hair to the side and connected the clasp, planting a kiss on her collarbone. Regina held the pendant in her hand, admiring the intricate chiselling, her eyes gleaming with adoration.

"Robin-" she began but Robin cut her off, pressing his lips to hers. She smiled into it and Robin lifted his hand to rest on her cheek, brushing his thumb over her cheekbone.

"I've had it for a long time, I just wanted it to go to the right person." He said matter-of-factly, the grin on his face reaching ear to ear. He hadn't moved his hand and Regina leaned into it, kissing him again softly.

"I'm glad you had that tattoo," she said and turned to walk out of the room. Robin looked at his forearm, picturing the lion that sat beneath his coat and shook his head before walking out after her up the stairs.
