Chapter 17: Finally a Malik

"Wake up Clara" Zayn said gently shaking me. I groaned and rolled over looking at the time. "You guys let me sleep until noon" I said in shock. "You deserved it you worked hard yesterday. Now wake up we need to get to the courthouse" Zayn said. I smiled then got up. I jumped into the shower then got dressed. I decided to leave my hair natural and go without make up. I went to the kitchen and saw Zayn eating a bowl of cereal. "Lets go lets go" I said bouncing up and down. "I guess we both decided to go natural" Zayn said with a smile. He didn't have his hair in a quiff and my mouth dropped. "You never leave the house without your quiff" I managed to say. "Well I made you take pictures all natural it's the least I can do" Zayn said with a shrug. I beamed and hugged him tight. "Come on bro lets get my last name changed." We climbed into the car that was waiting for us and we were taken to the courthouse. I gripped Zayn's hand nervously because paparazzi were surrounding the car. Zayn squeezed my hand assuringly then opened the car door. We kept our heads down as we made our way to the courthouse. We ignored all the questions thrown at us until we safely made it into the courthouse. "I didn't think you would make it on time" the lady at the desk said giving us a smile. We smiled back then we were ushered into a room. My birth certificate was presented with my original name then my adoption papers with my current name. "Are you sure you want to do this" Zayn asked, I nodded. "More than anything." The process took most of the day but we left the courthouse with grins on our faces. We yet again ignored the paparazzi but we didn't keep our heads down. We climbed into the car and I gave Zayn a huge hug. We went through Nando's drive thru to pick up dinner for everyone. Once we arrived at the flats we went to Liam's knowing everyone was there. As soon as we opened the door Niall attacked us. "NANDO'S" he shouted. I laughed and handed him his bag. He ran into the kitchen happy as a sissy in boys camp. I went into the kitchen and gave everyone their food. We all ate in silence then went into the living room. Liam put in Toy Story and I cuddled into Zayn's side. "So we have a movie premier tomorrow want to come" Louis said. "Of course I do" I said excited. "Awesome it's in New York" Louis said excited also. "You can be my date" Zayn said, I gave him a look "or not" Zayn said. "Is Mary going to be there" I asked, Niall shook his head no. "She can't leave Ireland right now", I pouted. "How about I be everyone but Louis and Liam's date" I said. "Okay" everyone said causing me to laugh. "Omg everyone shut up Toy Story is coming on" Liam said excited. He cuddled into his Toy Story blanket and watched with wide eyes. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow then looked at everyone else. They gave me a look that said "don't ask". "Remind me to test his spoon fear" I whispered to Louis which caused him to laugh silently. Everyone settled down for a marathon of Toy Story.
