A vast land extended everywhere eyes could reach. There, Sasuke and Naruto were expecting to fight off Kimochi.
—Are you sure that us fighting here won't cause trouble to the countryside? —Naruto asked Sasuke.
—I am sure. All of this is wasteland.
—Now, let's wait for Kimochi —Naruto said while taking off the mask from his head. Sasuke did the same.
Few moments later, a familiar voice resonated behind them:
—Oh, hi, little tiny fox! I see you bugs figured out a way to prevent me from tracking your sense. Clever! One moment you weren't, and the other, you were. Funny, funny! Oohh! And you brought your friend that came back from the dead! Not like the wife, that's like, really, really dead, ha ha ha... Thank me later, little tiny fox! Oh, I'm sure you're dying (ha ha ha, dying, like your wife) to know, so, let me tell you, she's in that box... Yeah! Humans stink! And I needed to freeze her to keep her cool, you know, so her eyes would still be usable! Ha ha ha! Shall we begin?
—Not so fast... we are waiting for another member...
—Hello, Kimochi...
—Toneri! What the... how are you with the stinky humans? You traitor!
—You took my student, the Byakugan Princess... And I can't forgive that.
—Had I known, I would have done it anyway and I would've killed you when I saw you! So, the Byakugan Princess, you say! That's why I always found her so delicious!... But tell me... the sealing... were you lying or can it actually be removed?
—I wasn't lying. I was the one that placed the seal on her eyes, so only I can remove it. And I won't do it.
—Well, I guess I'll just have to torture you into doing it.
—Shut up, Kimochi —Naruto interrupted the conversation—. I'm going to take my wife with me and defeat you. You won't threaten my family again.
—We'll see, little tiny fox!
The fight began. Although at disadvantage, Sasuke, Naruto and Toneri manage, after hours of brawling, to restrain Kimochi with the puppet-cursing sphere jutsu. And just when they were about to hit the final blow, Kimochi spoke with a deep, serious voice not known until that point:
—You've manage to fight, and almost win, against a god as powerful as me... However, I'm not going to continue this charade. It is not worthy going through all of this trouble for just one vessel. I'll come back when Momoshiki has fully taken over his stem... then, neither of you will fight against me because the bug will be long lost and I will definitely kill that bastard. As reward for surviving a god, I'll leave the one who didn't. Au revoir!
And, in the blink of an eye, Kimochi disappeared like thin air...
Naruto rushed over to the box and opened it. Hinata was there... pale and lifeless, frozen. Bruises were no longer visible, but a huge wound that never closed was evident at the height of her belly bottom; her eyes, useless to Kimochi, were also in its place. But it was her; they could finally bury her properly and she could finally rest.
Naruto mumbled to her:
—Thank you, Hinata. I'll take good care of the kids and you won't be forgotten. You will forever stay in my heart and remain my guidance compass. I shall honor your death by living up to your expectations. See you in a few years. Do not wait for me, please.
Few months after the funeral, Shikamaru told Naruto that they'd managed to put the mask technology in a less invasive artefact: a bracelet. He gave two of them to Naruto, saying that the mask could be taken off now. Thankful, Naruto took the bracelets and headed home.
Naruto, Boruto and Himawari had finally returned to their house; the memories were now bearable and they were all now looking forward to honor the amazing women that had saved them, and the shinobi world alongside.
