Our love bloomed, beautiful green woods,
all around us the birds sang and squirrels ran
everything surrounding us so free in love
we stood as tall as trees, and everyday was
Christmas; we strung lights on trunks and shrubs
and we celebrated, in the heart of July,
we sang Christmas carols, we were so untouchable
in this world, this forest that was us and only us,
away from heartache, tragedy in the morning news,
forgotten cups of coffee and broken streets,
we shed the skin of our old lives and stepped into
our forest, and we were safe inside our love;
our love became evergreen, never even changing for the seasons.
