Maria and Clayton had arrived at school, and Lillith stood at the door waiting for her. "Hey Ma-" She froze in shock.
"Hey Maria, w-when I was w-waiting for you I needed t-to use the b-bathroom r-really bad s-so I w-waited until you s-showed up." She chuckled and took Maria by the arm.
"I'll wait for you after class." Said Clayton smiling widely. "Alright," Maria said being pulled away by Lillith.
"Explain." Said Lillith crossing her arms aggressively. "It's a long story, so basically he showed up at my house-" Lillith cut her off. "AT YOUR HOUSE?!?!?!!" Lillith sad smirking. "I should have never told you." Said Maria leaving for her classes.
"Hey, that's the girl that walked with Clayton?" Said a girl pointing at maria. "Now looking at her, she's kinda hot." Said a guy standing by the lockers.
"Mia... uh..." Said one of Mia's side girls. "What?" Mia said putting on her lipgloss. "They say that maria was with Clayton t-today." Said Mia's side girl pointing at her.
"Hey." Said a guy going up to Maria. "Uh, hello?" She said confused. "You're pretty cute." Said the guy. "Thank you." She smiled.
"Dude backoff." Said a boy walking by. "Antwon?" She said still confused. He patted her on the head and said; "Nice going." She didn't know what he meant. "What do you mean "Nice going"? she said once again, still confused.
He turned, waved at her, and kept walking. She scoffed. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
She said walking to her classes. "Alright, since the old history teacher is no longer going to be here, I am your new history teacher. Hello everybody, my name is Mrs. Keenin." She said waving to the students.
Maria sighed in relief. "Thank god." She whispered under her breath. After class, Maria had gotten startled by the sudden appearance of Clayton standing by the door. "You scared me." She said grabbing her things. "Meh." He said playfully.
"I have a question." Said Clayton walking with Maria to lunch. "Ask away," She said walking. "How did you get your name?" He said curiously. "Oh. Well if you promise me you won't tell anyone about how I got my name, I will tell you." She said smiling awkwardly.
"Alright I pinky promise." He said holding out his pinky finger. "You're so childish." She said assembling her finger with his.
"Once upon a time. There was a wife and a husband. And the wife and husband did things that other wives and husbands wouldn't normally do, they always did this together though. T-they w-were i-in a-"
Clayton cut her off. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." He said holding her hand on accident.
"Mafia."
She said with her face turning pale. It took a while for Clayton to understand. He was surprised but he didn't run away like a coward. He hugged her. "What a beautiful name." He said holding her frail body in his arms.
"You're like Lillith, no matter what she will stay with me as long as she can," Maria said crying softly in his arms.
"M-Mia... l-look." Said Mia's side girl. "Don't worry, I have an impeccable plan." Said Mia smiling widely.
