The next room I was brought into had a table in it, and a man. "Lay down and take off that shirt," the man said as he rummaged through his supplies. I took off my shirt, and sat on top of the table.
I looked at him confused, "What are you doing?" All he did was wipe anesthetic on the back of my left shoulder.
"If you're working with the Wolves, you need their tribal wolf tattoo. It's on the back left shoulder, so only we know it's there. It's a part of this procedure," the man responded.
"Let's get this over with," I grunted as I laid face down on the table. There was a poke as it started, but it quickly became a burning wildfire on my skin.
"You're done," the man said. As I rose, I looked into the mirror and saw the tattoo. For something so painful, it almost looked majestic.
Zeke walked into the room, "Time for your next part of the procedure." He led me back into the main room. Only the leaders were in the room. There was another table with a vial of something dark in front of them. It was partly clouded up which was extremely strange.
"Drink it," Lucas demanded. I walked up to the table with the vial on it. The vial was within grasp, when I finally snapped out of my trance. I backed away from the table. Lucas nodded at me and two guards walked towards me. The fight was really over before it started. Both guards were on the ground moaning.
"You have to try something harder than that Lucas," I smirked.
I felt a cold knife on my neck. "How about this?" Zeke asked. "Now let's drink this vial." Two other guards held me while Zeke put some of the substance that was in the vial in my mouth. Then he plugged my mouth and covered my nose, so I couldn't spit it out and couldn't breathe until I swallowed. My lungs screamed for air. I was seeing black on the edges of my vision. I finally swallowed and collapsed, my lungs screaming for air.
I looked up at Zeke, but his image turned to Lucas. Lila was on his side, tied up. She was screaming for me to help her, but I couldn't move from my spot. There was a raging fire underneath her, and Lila shrieked out of fear. "Lila!" I shouted as I tried to move to her, but I was still stuck. A tear ran down my face, and I helplessly watched her burn. Then both Lila and Lucas disappeared.
"You dreaming, Jason?" Zeke smirked. "You handled that pretty easily for your first time. Fear is a strong thing, huh?" He laughed, "That substance you drank triggers one of your fears. What was it? Was it her? He looked to his side and I looked there too. It was Lila. No, no!
Ian was standing near her. "You were supposed to let her go Lucas! You lied," I growled.
"I have to be sure you cooperate Jason. It's only business," Lucas replied. "Do your job. She may go free only then."
"I will if you give me five minutes with Lila. Alone," I said. Lila looked at me hopefully. Lucas gave a nod and everyone walked out, the guards closing the door after everyone.
"Really Jason?" she asked. Then she slapped me. My skin burned red hot. "I had it under control. I was perfectly capable of saving myself right there."
I laughed, " That's why you were cut on your face, right? Because you were saving yourself."
She started laughing, but it only lasted a moment, "Do you notice what is happening? It's like we are eight all over again. Being great friends, then having to leave, and not being able to see each other again for a long time," Lila asked.
"Well, when we were eight we never did this," I told her. "I've never been kidnapped with you."
"Well, we never did that, did we?" Lila smiled. The doors opened, and Zeke, Ian, and two guards walked towards us. Ian went straight to Lila, and Zeke and the guards went to me. "Promise me that you'll stay safe, Jason!"
"I will," I vowed. She looked relieved when I said that.
"Let's go," Zeke ordered. Each guard went to one of my sides, and put a hand on my shoulder. Once we walked out of the door, Zeke turned towards me, "This is only protocol." Then he left, and the guard on my left punched my lights out.
