Chapter 4

The Avengers spent the next day to try and reel back from the pie incident, so they weren't doing much. Meliodas decided to explore New York for the day, since his team was obviously out of commission. If only the bad guys knew his secret, then they would win for sure. When Meliodas was leaving the mansion he looked at one of the windows and noticed there was a hole in it, big enough for a hand to fit through. His eyes narrowed, and he made a mental note to keep his eyes peeled.

Now Meliodas was just walking along the sidewalk and some people when he heard an explosion to his left. He calmly looked over while everyone else was freaking out and trying to run away. The short blond spotted someone dressed in a red white and blue spider costume. He was using webs to swing and throw things at what he could only assume was a giant rhino. It's not the craziest thing he's seen so he didn't really have a reaction to it.

Rhino was getting really annoyed with Spider-Man, but that's not really out of the ordinary. When he saw a blond kid standing on the sidewalk and just watching, he grinned, then he charged at him. Spider-Man didn't have enough time to get to him.

"Hey kid! Get out of the way!"

Meliodas stayed where he was standing with his neutral look. He wasn't at all worried about the gigantic rhino charging at him, and when he got close enough, Meliodas used one hand to grab him by the horn and stop him from moving any further. Then he threw him across the street and into a building.

"Charging at a helpless little kid? Man you really set the bar low."

Rhino looked up to find Meliodas standing above him, smiling. And the thing that annoyed him was that it wasn't a taunting smile. It made him feel like he was being looked down upon by a child, which is technically what's happening, but it's not like he knows Meliodas is like millions of years old. Rhino tried to grab him, and right when Meliodas was about to catch his fist, he felt something stick to his back and pull him out of the way.

When his feet planted back on the ground he looked beside him to see Spider-Man.

"Hey what do you think you're doing? You can't be here, Rhino is a very dangerous supervillain."

"Really?" Meliodas asked with disbelief as he crossed his arms and looked back at Rhino who was now getting up. "Doesn't seem that dangerous to me. Doesn't look very smart either."

"Look kid, this is superhero business, you should get out of here and get to safety." Spider-Man warned.

"Relax, I'm an Avenger." Meliodas explained.

"What? But why would-" Spider-Man stopped mid sentence when he remembered seeing a short blond fight bad guys with the Avengers. He never really got a good look at his face so that's why he didn't notice it earlier.

"I've faced stronger opponents than this Rhino guy, so you can relax, he won't be able to land a hit on me unless I let him." Meliodas smirked.

"But what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be going after the seventy five escaped villains? And if you're here, where are the other Avengers?" Spider-Man asked as he looked around, trying to see if he can spot any of the other heroes.

"It's actually seventy four. The seventy fifth one was me, but that was a misunderstanding. Also the other Avengers are out of commission." The blond answered nonchalantly.

"Oh no, what happened?" Spider-Man panicked. Who could be strong enough to take down the whole team?

"Oh, they ate a pie I made and used today to either purge their stomachs or are just sitting around hating on their tastebuds." Meliodas answered.
