• Jeonghan's point of view •

I sat on the bed beside her sleeping form, softly running my hand through her fringe, just staring at her peaceful face.

I sighed for the nth time while sitting beside her as I fisted my hands before looking down onto the bed and closing my eyes shut, trying to keep calm.

No matter how hard I try, I could not forget the conversation I just had, back at my parent's office.

"He tried to rape her. His own sister."

My form tensed immediately and everything around me froze and slowly my vision seemed as if everything turned red.

I couldn't hear or pay attention to anything much, except for the fact that I am willing to find that bastard right now, and rip his heart out and feed it to the sharks.

"We found out when one of our men heard her screaming one day at one of the guest rooms and stumbled upon it."

I started breathing heavily, my chest obviously moving up and down, as my grip on the chair tightened almost to the point of me ripping it apart.

"When we confronted her about how long this has been going on, it broke our heart when she said that it had been going on for a few months. He had her beaten up and tortured, until that day where she was almost raped."

Mr Gold said with a lot of remorse while Mrs Gold cried out as if in pain from hearing it again.

"We disowned him immediately after that and kicked him out of our empire, however we failed to stop him from growing an empire of his own. The reason he was torturing Roxanne was so that she couldn't interfere with his work."

I am going to skin this bastard alive and torture him slowly to death.

"A month after we kicked him out, he invaded us with his group but it was futile, as we had more men. We decided that it wasn't good to keep him alive so we try to discover their base and bomb them all from the air. Not one body was found, all burnt to ashes."

He let out a sigh after speaking which means that he's regretting something.

"We thought he was dead, until I received a threat note from him, telling us that he's going to have revenge."

I stared at the old man impassively.

"It has been 3 years and now he shows up again, threatening us. Who knows what army he has built up this time."

Everyone was in thought after Mr Gold's explanation until the silence was broken by Jihoon.

"Mr Gold, I'm sorry if this sounds rude but, how are we threatened with this?"

He does make a good point and Mr Gold turned to eye my father, giving him a look while my father just nodded in understanding.

I furrowed my brows at what they were keeping from us.

"The unison of both our mafias was supposed to happen, even without this threat."

My father finally spoke and that made my brothers and I confused as we stared at each other before turning back to our father.

"What do you mean father? You mean the Diamond and Gold mafia were planning to unite?"

Soonyoung asked and he got a nod as a response.

"Unite in how exactly?"

Myeongho asked next and we all anticipated in what my father would say.

My parents gave each other a look before turning to me specifically while I had my brows raised.

"Marriage. Between Roxanne and Jeonghan."

That had my eyes widening and my mouth gaping while I couldn't comprehend the bomb that just dropped from my parents.

"What?! You have been planning on marrying me to Roxanne?!"

"We were actually taking it slow, waiting for the both of you to maybe stop killing each other, whenever you're in one room."

This time my mother spoke and I scoffed at her, still in disbelief that they had planned my future, our future, ahead of us.

"Don't be mad Jeonghan, in the end, she is someone who you truly cherish now."

My mother coaxed me which had me just letting out a sigh, agreeing with her because, if it were the old me, I would have resented this agreement.

But now..... I cannot see myself in the future with anyone else but her.

"Raymond knows of this information, thanks to the rats from both our empires and now we are both threatened, thus causing us to drag the unison earlier than expected."

Mr Gold started speaking again, this time with the authority and power he always exudes.

"I meant it when I said I trust you with my daughter Jeonghan. Protect her with your life, this is the one threat she needs to face."

I gave a determined look towards Mr Gold and gave him a firm nod before we were all dismissed from the office as they were planning on what to do from here.

I heard shuffling of the bedsheets which had me flashing my eyes open and staring at her slowly waking up while opening her eyes and blinking a few times.

I had a soft smile on my face when she turned to look at me before she diverted her attention to the drip attached onto her hand.

"What happened?"

Her voice was soft and tender as I slowly helped her sit up on the bed.

"You had a panic attack and fainted."

"Oh."

She seemed to be deep in thought with a frown on her face, her hands fiddling with each other, which shows that she's nervous.

"I know everything, your dad told us."

Her eyes shot towards mine and soon tears started brimming in her eyes before falling down her face.

I brought a hand up and wiped them away then placed the hand under her chin to bring her face up when she tried to look down.

"It's okay. You're safe. I'll protect you."

I spoke out softly before pulling her into my embrace as she leaned her head against my chest while I placed my head against hers, lightly kissing the top of her head.

He won't ever touch you again, I promise.
