I was in a dream. I knew because, I wasn't in my dorm, and my mother was standing in front of me.
She looked furious and she was pointing her wand at someone. I'll give you a hint: the person wears a black cloak, he has a mask, and he is a cold hearted monster. Still don't know who it is? Well, who else would it be besides the man who murdered my father. My mother looked ready to rip his bloody head off. She was shaking with anger and her teeth were clenched.
"Come back have you? What makes you think I won't kill you or ship you off to Azkaban right now," she said, her knuckles turning white from how hard she was holding her wand. I was surprised it hadn't snapped already. It was weird seeing my mother like this. She was always a gentle soul, but the only time you would ever see her like this was when she was at work hunting Death Eaters. The bastard just smiled and casually leaned against the wall, as if there wasn't a vengeful woman standing in front of him, pointing a wand at him.
"Oh, I was just in town and thought I'd drop by. Don't you miss my presence, Andrea?" he said, smirking, pushing himself off the wall and coming closer towards her. She stood her ground and watched him warily.
"Get out of my house, Michael, and leave my family alone, or I swear this will be your last free breath," she snarled. He just came closer and reached out to stroke her brown hair. She slapped his hand back and he raised an eyebrow. It was then that I noticed how he looked, because the first time I saw him it was dark and he was wearing a cloak. He had black hair and dark, almost black, brown eyes. He had a strong jaw and he was very muscular. He looked handsome, but all of that was tainted with the evil glint in his eyes and the dark mark on his arm.
"I see your still as feisty now as when we were together," he said circling her. She kept a wary eye on him and her wand followed his every move. I gasped, but they couldn't hear me.
My mother went out with that? I thought horrified.
She sneered at him, which looked odd on such a sweet face.
"Tell me, Andrea. Was Alec so much better than me that you had to run off and marry him? I could have satisfied you and kept you happy more than he ever does, or should I say did?" he whispered in her ear, smirking at the last part. My mother clenched her fists again and I guess she had enough, because she sent a spell at him at once. He blocked it easily, and laughed mockingly.
"Don't you dare talk about Alec that way! He was more of a man then you'll ever be!" she bellowed. Michael just sneered and threw a spell at her. She dodged it.
"Is that so?" he said throwing another spell.
They started to throw spells at each other faster than I could keep up. My mother was tiring, but she held her ground and threw a spell back at him with more force. He stumbled but then started to throw more curses at her. He threw a curse quicker than the rest and it hit her right in the chest. She flew back and hit the wall, exhaustion and pain wracking through her body. She was still conscious but she couldn't get up because of her leg. Michael came and stood over her, backhanding her across the face.
"Now if you hadn't done that then I would have let you go without too much pain. But now it's time for me to have some fun," he said with a grin. My mother's eyes widened as she took in his meaning and tried to get away. He just laughed and grabbed her by the waist. She struggled and screamed but he held on tight.
I forced myself awake, and jumped out of bed. I ran as fast as I could out of the portrait hole and all the way to the Forbidden Forest. I must have been quite a sight running with bed head and dorky pajamas barefoot. While running, I morphed into my eagle form and flew as fast as I could. I needed to make it before he...
Once I was sure I was out of the boundaries of the school, I apparated to my house. Not leaving a moment to waste, I ran inside and up the stairs. Fear stabbed my heart once I heard the piercing screams coming from my mother's room. I saw them, before they saw me and I quickly sent a stunning spell at Michael.
They were both half nude.
He was blasted against the wall, but he was still conscious. I quickly went to my mother who was hurriedly getting dressed, and stood in front of her, pointing my wand at the pathetic excuse of a man in front of me. When my mother was fully clothed I turned to her and looked her over to see how badly injured she was. She just had a gash on her leg and her face was swollen. She had tears in her eyes but she wouldn't cry. She could barely stand. I hugged her tightly and sighed in relief. I had gotten here just in time.
I heard movement behind me and turned to see Michael standing upright and looking at me with a sneer. He was about to lunge at me when I blocked him with a barrier spell. I shot a spell at him causing his face to erupt in cuts. One particular gash that was across his left cheek would probably leave a scar. At least he'll have something to remember me by. He started to back up, but I wasn't going to let him go so easily. Right when I raised my wand, he disapparated, leaving my mother and I in our desolate home. I turned back to her. "Are you okay?" She stoically nodded but I could see her emotions raging in her eyes.
"Thank you sweetheart. You just saved me from something that would have left me scarred for the rest of my life. I love you so much," she said caressing my cheek. I leaned into her hand and gave her a half-hearted smile. "I'm so proud of you and I'm sure your father would've been too. You have gotten so strong...you know, you remind me of him sometimes," she whispered tucking my hair behind my ear. I gave her another smile as tears formed in my eyes.
"I'm just glad you're okay," I said, hugging her again.
"Hang on. How did you know this was happening?" she said confused. I looked at her and told her everything that happened. I told her about my other dreams and of what's going on at Hogwarts. I even told her of Draco. Tension wired her body as she listened to my descriptions of my dreams and my encounters with Draco. I don't know why I had told her everything, but it just burst out of me when I looked into her amber eyes. I was so worn out by the end. It was almost sunrise and I didn't want to go back to school. It was Sunday so that was the only good thing that came out of this. We talked more, but I had to go before my friends got worried. I held her tight against me when the time came for me to leave. For some reason, she felt so small in my arms. It jarred me a bit because mothers were always seen as giants, a big encompassing force that always surrounded you. Now she was reduced to a mere mortal like me. When did that happen?
