Chapter 5

Preparing for a date is harder than I thought.

Nakatayo ako ngayon sa closet ko, hindi makapag desisyon kung ano ang susuotin lalo't wala akong matatanungnan o magtutulong sa akin sa pamimili ng damit.

Should I ask my cousins? Nah...they'll just tease me. Wait! Maybe pearl can help.

I dialed her phone number and after a few rings, the line got connected.

"I was about to call you! So, what's up?" Bungad niya agad sa akin pagkasagot niya ng tawag.

Wala man lang warning. Nabigla tuloy ako sa pagsigaw niya.

"Can you help me choose a dress for a date?" I asked.

May narinig pa akong parang may nahulog sa kabilang linya. "Woah! You're going on a date?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong niya. "Sure, I can help you. But I can't go to your house so just me a picture of your dresses."

"Wait."

I opened my camera and took a picture of my dresses. After a few taps on the screen the pictures were sent to her.

"I already sent it to you," I said.

There was a quick silence before she answered me. "I like the beige one."

I took the beige dress.

"Okay. Thanks. Bye!" I hunged up.

Sinuot ko na ito since tapos narin akong maligo. Naglagay lang ako ng light make up at nag apply ng kunting liptint. Hindi ko na ginalaw ang buhok ko at hinayaan itong nakalugay.

Napatayo ako nang may biglang kumatok sa pintuan. Bumukas ito at pumasok si Janine na may nakakalokong ngiti.

"Your boyfriend is here," she said.

I rolled my eyes. "He's not my boyfriend." Pagtatanggi ko.

"But soon to be." Tumatawa siyang lumabas ng kwarto at isinara ang pinto.

I grab my pouch at bumaba na para salubungin ang aking date.

Napatayo ito nang makita ako. He's wearing a black and white polo that fits hus masculine body, and his hair has been neatly combed sideways.

He's so handsome that I'm sure every girl would do anthything just to get his attention. Kung hindi ko pa siya kilala baka napagkamalan ko na siyang artista or model.

He flashed his mesmerizing smile. "You look stunning," he said as he reaches for my hand.

I returned his smile. "Thanks," I replied.

"Let's go?"

I just nodded.

This place is simple, but you can feel the cozy atmosphere and the aroma of delicious food makes you crave it.

"Nice choice," sabi ko sa kanya.

"My friend suggested this restaurant," he said then called for a waiter.

Lumapit ito sa amin sabay kuha ng ballpen at maliit na notepad.

"What's your order ma'am and sir?" Nakangiti nitong tanong.

Binuksan ko ang menu at tinuro ang Sirloin steak.

Nabaling ang kanyang atensyon kay Kevin. "What about you sir?" Tanong nito sa kanya.

"Onglet, and we would like some of your best wine here." Nakangiting sagot nito.

The waiter nodded. "Please wait for a moment ma'am and sir. We'll serve your orders soon," sabi ng waiter at umalis na.
