So...after doing some digging I found out that Master Tahl died in 41 BBY and this story takes place one year after she died...
*le sigh*
But hey since this is my AU we just gonna pretend she's still alive ok? Ok. Good talk.

Day 36

"Master..."

"Yes Padawan?"

"Do you...do you think she's alright?"

Qui-Gon turned to see his apprentice staring at the door to the Sallow/Kenner quarters. Now, of course, it was cut down to just one occupant with the last name of Kenner. It had been two tendays and two standard rotations since the late Masters funeral and only one tenday since Oaklyn had woken up. After a couple rotations Oaklyn was sent back to her quarters, not wanting to go back but going anyways. However, the door to her quarters stayed firmly shut, never once had it been opened since the girl arrived.

"She hasn't left her quarters in awhile. Is she eating? I haven't seen her at the refectory...or...anywhere for that matter..." the boy trailed off, still staring at the glass door.

"Are you concerned Padawan?" Qui-Gon asked,  Obi-Wan replied with a shocked expression.

"Of course I'm concerned! Aren't you concerned?!" His voice went an octave higher at his Masters absurd question. Didn't he care about her as well?

Qui-Gon gave a quick nod of the head and a little smile,"I shield my worry better than you, I'm afraid Obi-Wan."

Obi-Wan's mouth snapped shut promptly, "I—well—I guess that's true Master." A quick laugh left his mouth. "But...don't you think someone should check on her?"

"And by someone you mean you right?" Qui-Gon titled his head with a hint of mockery.

"No-o-o...not exactly...I just meant..."

"Go Obi-Wan." The boys face lit up like a bright light. "But not for too long, you still have an assignment to complete."

"Yes Master! Of course Master!" Obi-Wan exclaimed while sprinting to the door of Oaklyn's quarters.

He rapped his knuckles against the glass and waited with a grin on his face for it to open.

It never did.

Reaching out, he palmed open the door with help from the Force and stepped inside. The sitting room looked clean and untouched.

"Oaklyn?" He called out, awaiting a response but there was nothing but the sound of his own breathing. He walked into the kitchen half-expecting to see Oaklyn snacking on something like she did so often. The girl was not there either. Obi-Wan decided to look in her room since the was no other place in the quarters where Oaklyn would be. Even when Nicola was alive, she wouldn't venture into her quarters. They respected each other's privacy. Obi-Wan, again, knocked on the closed door. "Oaklyn, may I come in?"

Silence.

"I-I'm coming in." He warned in case she was changing clothing or something like that. Obi-Wan had no desire to accidentally walk in on an uncomfortable situation. Turning the door handle, he heard the click as he pushed it open. The first thing he saw was a figure lying on the bed, not under the sheets, just resting on the top. At first, Obi-Wan thought the girl was taking a nap, but further inspection made it clear she wasn't. Her eyes were open, staring into the abyss of white ceiling. Obi-Wan felt the numb pain that was rippling off her signature along with whispers of annoyance. Was she annoyed at his being here?
