Unexpectedly Yours

Chapter 1

Connor is a type of guy who doesn't like to have or seek attention to anyone but due to his looks and cold personality, most of the girls are trying to win him over and some of the boys envy him in their university. 

Connor doesn't care about other people aside from his friends Cindy and Josh. 

Not like every college student, reality slaps him in an early age . Juggling between internship, part-time job and his last year of college . Connor sees his life as routinely as waking up, eating, going to school and after school he's working as a waiter in a restaurant and that routine mostly  revolves everyday. He don't like wasting time and money on things that is not a necessity. Many misunderstood him being cold and an anti-social but he just don't want to talk to people he rarely knows.

It's 7:30 am , still drowsy and tired from his shift last night .  He reaches out his phone from the table and turn off the alarm.  tried managing himself to get out of bed, takes a shower, had some bread and coffee to start his day.

After his morning routine, he glances the clock and  quickly grabs his things, locks the door and off to school.

CLASSROOM

Cindy: Did you finish the project that's due today?

Connor; Yeah, I finished it 3 days ago

Josh: dude, how can you manage your time? you still have work and internship and damn you already finished that 3 days ago.

Cindy: Because he's not you . Jerk and irresponsible.

Josh: thanks  Cin, really appreciate your compliment.

Cindy replies by smiling and Connor just shakes his head looking at his friends being all sarcastic.

After their class they went to the cafeteria to grab some lunch. After putting the bags on an empty table , Connor rushes to a nearby food stall to buy some lunch with Cindy while Josh remains at the table.

While waiting for their order.

Cindy: Hey, I remembered, it's your first day in a new company right? 

Connor: yeah, I don't know if it's something i can look forward to .

Cindy: dude, get a hold of yourself . Trust me, it's far more different from the ones before. That freakin witch supervisor is getting on my nerves.

Connor: Thank God I was transferred from a different branch .

Connor sigh as a sign of relief. 

As soon as they finished eating, Connor peaks at his wrist watch to see the time and he immediately stand from his sit and panics on putting his things in his bag, making Josh and Cindy startle. 

Cindy: stupid, you're making me die instantly.

Josh: That's the result of being so greedy with coffee. 

Josh laugh as Cindy rolls her eyes in agitation.

Connor: Fuck, guys I need to go. I'm late.

Cindy: such a fuss kiddo.

Connor: I need to go, I'm late and it's my first day. 

Cindy: ok, break a leg.

Josh shouted mischievously 

Josh: Like literally

While panting from running, Connor hurries and waves at a motorcycle taxi. He always checks and peaks at the time to know if he can be a buzzer beater.

Unfortunately, he is 5 minutes late when he arrives at the office. Rushes inside the building and sprints towards the elevator when he sees the elevator is closing , but he didn't make.

Connor: Fuck, of all the days. 

Dumbfounded, he just let out a heavy sigh and was about to press the button when he felt a finger.

Connor: Sorry

Stranger: ....

Connor is about to look at the stranger but when he's about to turn , the elevator door opens. 2 men walks inside , Connor placed himself at the farthest back while the other man was in front of him.

Connor felt so different, he rarely feel awkward with a stranger but right at that moment he can really feel the awkwardness in the air.

Unconsciously, he stared at the older man .  The slightly messy medium-length hair , white polo perfectly fits his broad shoulder inserted under the  dark colored slack pants with shiny brown leather shoes. Just by looking at the back portion of the other man Connor can't help but feels somewhat flustered.

Connor: Why did I think like that? 

Connor murmurs making the other man tilt his head to look at him but was interrupted by Connor's action.

Connor: sorry,  forgot to press the floor. 

He is about to press the 10th floor when the other man is faster enough to press it causing him to feel embarrassed.

" Why did I think like that, I'm just complementing him that's all" .  That is all he thinks about in the elevator together with that other man. 

He looks at his watch again and is terrified knowing that his already 10 minutes late. Finally , when the elevator door opens he immediately speeds up.

The other man is looking so confused at Connor and steps out of the elevator.

AT THE OFFICE 

Connor was wondering where the HR department is.

He was about to ask but someone walks by and without even noticing the person.

Connor: Sorry to bother you , I'm kinda in a hurry  but can I ask if where is the HR Department? 

When he looks at the person, he is slightly shock knowing that the person he is with a minute ago is the person he is talking  right now. The man looks at him and  points at the far end of the room.

Connor nods and thank him then rushes his way to the room.

Hey,  chapter 1 is already up , thank you for those people who had time reading  my story. I'll make sure to update as many chapter as possible in a week and I'm sorry if i have some wrong grammars. I'll try to  improve myself in writing and will convey the story to you guys just to make you happy. :D :D <3
