Local Hospital Undergoes False Quarantine After Fifty Unexplained Deaths

The quarantine at St. Jude's General Hospital that followed the unexpected collapse of fifty-one people late Wednesday morning was lifted last night when no conclusive evidence of a disease was found.

According to security footage at St. Jude's, at 11:03 am, fifty-one people collapsed to the ground from no apparent cause, with fifty of them passing away. This started the quarantine that lasted thirty-six hours, which tested the victims for disease, drugs, and poisons.

Chase Crawford, a representative from the CDC lead the investigation, and reported with the following conclusion.

"There is no evidence of any plague, epidemic or foul play present here. From what we have gathered, these people's hearts simply gave out. It is a great coincidence that it happened at the same time."

What was even more shocking was the individual who dropped and did not pass away.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joseph King collapsed like the others in the hospital, but luckily didn't pass away. He is currently in a coma after sustaining minor injuries from the fall.

According to Joseph's father, Jack King, Joseph was at the hospital to visit an insurance run clinic, after surviving a terrible accident earlier in the summer.

"I dropped him off less than an hour before this happened. I just got to work when I was told about what occurred. My wife and I rushed down here as soon as we knew. He has been through so much already; he didn't deserve more."

Dr. Liam Asher, the head of this clinic, was one of the fifty who died of heart failure.

Joseph is currently at the St. Catharines Niagara Health Site. It is unknown how long he will remain in a comatose state, but he is expected to make a full recovery. While the others who collapsed from heart failure, Mr. King did not suffer any heart problems.

His attending doctor, Dr. Shaun Foreman, is monitoring Mr. King around the clock, making sure nothing else befalls his patient.

"He is lucky compared to the others. When he was admitted he had minor bruising to his head and back, along with a slight concussion, on top of his previous injuries. Sometimes the body puts itself into a comatose state to heal its own injuries. We just have to wait for him to wake up at this point."

While the King family is happy that their son is alive, many families are devastated by the unexpected deaths of their loved ones.

While the CDC has concluded their investigation, others are saying the investigation should continue. The staff at St. Jude's are going to stay cautious until an answer is found.
