I smiled at my twin, Hyunjae and tucked her hair behind her ears. She had tears in her eyes. "Jae, don't cry." I bent down, wiping her tears.

Hyunjae gripped my shoulders. "Why are you crying? You know it's not like the old days, you can come visit us." I laughed.

Hyunjae and I were identical twins. Our parents owned a law firm that they created from literally nothing.

But recently, our dad's new partner messed up the financial records and they started losing money.

We couldn't borrow a loan because then we would need to give the financial statements.

So another business consulting company offered to help in exchange for a bride. I was engaged to Jungkook, my boyfriend of two years. Hyunjae was put up for the wedding.

Our parents argued for a traditional hindu wedding because we grew up as Hindus. Our mom was hindu but our dad was korean.

"Can you give me a few minutes alone?" I nodded and kissed her forehead. "You have to be outside in ten minutes."

I smiled again and closed the room door. "Hey! I've been looking for you." I smiled at Jungkook.

"One day, we'll get married like this." He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me to him.

"I can't wait to see you on our wedding day." Jungkook kissed me and pulled me aside.

His hands held my face as our kiss deepened. I heard voices and pulled back. "You're so beautiful, baby. I'm so lucky to have you."

I cupped his cheeks, "I love you so much, kook."

Jungkook kissed my forehead but bumped into my damini. We both giggled at his action.

"Y/n!" I spun around, my mom stood there with a stare. I rushed into the room.

My mom closed the door behind me. "She's gone!" I looked at the table, her lengha and jewelry was all laid out.

"Change your clothes." I stared at my mom. "Why?"
"We need a bride, y/n. Hurry up and change."

My mom grabbed the lengha, handing me the blouse. "Hurry up!"
"I'm not getting married to their son! I'm engaged to Jungkook!"

I knew my mom didn't approve of Jungkook. She wanted at least one of her daughters to have an indian husband.

"If you don't get dressed right now, we will be bankrupt and go to jail. Is that what you want? After all we've done for you and Hyunjae! Get dressed, now!"

Tears ran down my cheeks. "What about Jungkook?"
"I will tell him what happened."

I slowly undressed and removed my jewelry. I reached for Hyunjae's outfit. I wiped my eyes, telling myself to be strong.

But I couldn't. I just couldn't. Not even five minutes ago, Jungkook and I spoke about us getting married.

Now, I would be marrying some random man. I didn't even remember his name. Park something but I couldn't remember.

How would Jungkook even react? Would he hate me? Would we have an affair?

I dressed in Hyunjae's lengha and fitted my bangles and earrings. This wasn't how I ever pictured myself getting married.

Hyunjae left her phone as well. I'm sure there must be some reason for her to just leave. But why couldn't she just talk about it?

Why drop her responsibility on someone else? And me, of all people. What did she think would happen? The wedding would be called off? That the groom's side would just be okay with everything?

I looked into the mirror. I took a deep breath and opened the door. Jungkook smiled at me, "Hyunjae, where's y/n?"

I glanced at my mom, who had a smile on her face. "She's gone to fetch some things from home. She'll be back soon."

Jungkook walked behind me as my mom walked me up onto stage.

I sat next to the man, keeping my hands in my lap. My vision was blurry with tears and I couldn't even focus on the priest's words.

The man grabbed my hand and placed it on his. He kept giving sharp glares at me.

After time achingly passed, the ceremony was over. I figured the man's, or rather my husband's name was Park Jimin.

Jimin gripped my hand as we walked down. "We're leaving," he hissed as we headed for the door.

"Hyunjae!" I turned around. Jungkook smiled at me. "We need to go," Jimin tugged on my hand.

"Please, one minute." I begged as tears threatened to fall. Jimin let go of my hand, "go."

I rushed into Jungkook's arms. "I'm sorry," I clutched into his shoulders. "Jae, calm down." He rubbed my back.

Jungkook kissed my cheek, "have fun, okay? Also where is y/n? She disappeared for your whole ceremony."

"I'm not sure but Jungkook, I'm sorry and-" he waited for me to say something but Jimin took my hand, "I love you," I whispered.
