I sat in the stuffy school office for what seemed like hours while the school officers suffered many unsuccessful attempts at calling my house.

The meanie officer finally emerged from the room next door with a small pink slip of paper. "Alright I'm gonna let you off with a warning this time because we can't seem to get ahold of either of your parents-" figures asshole- "But I don't want to see you wearing anything of this sort again."

He hands me the pink paper, "And I want you to bring this back with a parent signature by Friday." Haha I've been faking my Mom's signature since the fourth grade. "No problem." I smile sweetly at the officer before sashaying out the door. A least I didn't get detention...

I end up being about half an hour late to first period and I receive several gawking stares as I strut to my seat in the back corner of the classroom.

"Ms Naeve, late again? Do you at least have an excuse this time?" I sniffle and force my eyes to water, a skill I learned from a young age that could get me whatever I wanted. "I'm so very sorry Mrs Vaughn, my Grandma just passed away while getting breast implants this morning and it has just been a difficult day." I add in another sniffle for good measure.

Her face pales and I hear a few giggles come from the back of the class. "I- Well I am very sorry to hear that Tempest, I am very sorry for your loss."

I wipe a few stray fake tears off my cheeks, "It's quite alright Mrs Vaughn, I'm sure she's in a much better place now. With great boobs." Mrs Vaughn coughs and clears her throat, "Well then, shall we continue?"

The class period goes by surprisingly quickly, I don't even have time to get in my usual morning nap. I am stopped before I reach the door to leave by a tall slim girl with striking green eyes and a cute black pixie cut.

"Did your grandma really die while getting a boob job? Because I was actually thinking about getting one myself." She says with an English lilt and gives her flat chest a squeeze. I'm unsure what to say so I just stand there awkwardly. She bursts out laughing, "I'm kidding," she lets out a cute snort, "You shoulda seen your face, priceless." At this point I'm laughing with her, I kinda like this girl. "I'm Atlas," she sticks out her hand and I take it, "Tempest."

We end up figuring out that our schedule is almost identical and we even have lunch together.

"I just moved here a few weeks ago actually." She says as we walk to our next class together. "Well let me give you the run down." I say.

I point to a group of skinny blonde chicks in tight cheer uniforms, "Those are the 'it' girls, don't worry they're honestly not as bitchy as people might think, they're just dumb as hell." She nods and laughs, "noted."

Next I point to a group of beefy jocks not too far away from said cheerleaders. "Boneheads. That's all I have to say about that."

Then I point to a large group of guys and girls wearing vineyard vines and khakis, (aka the group Zach usually resides in, thankfully he is no where in sight.) "The preps, all made of daddy's money."

Lastly is a group of kids dressed in either completely black or retro 90s outfits, (aka my friend group.) Jack, my not gay, gay best friend smiles as we approach. "Temp, that was quite the show you put on this morning, I am impressed."

I give him a courtesy and giggle, "I aim to please." He pushes his glasses to the tip of his nose and waggles his eyebrows at me, "Well you certainly succeeded." I laugh and punch him in the arm.

"Jack this is Atlas. Atlas, Jack." She offers him a toothy grin, "I have to say, I'm sad I missed the show." I had told her the whole story earlier while we shoved our way through the hallway, (minus the bits about Zach and the blue eyed boy.)

"It was a masterpiece, very well executed, I couldn't have done it better myself." Jack gives me a pat on the back. "I don't know Jack, I think you'd look pretty hot in some lingerie." I say and giggle. "You think?" Jack strikes a sexual pose, jutting his ass out and squeezing his pecs.

Atlas is practically crying with laughter, "I think you may have found your career path," she choked out. He runs a hand through his auburn hair, "I think she may be onto something," he says nodding, "I like this girl." I smile, happy knowing they are already getting along so well.

"Well we better head to Pre Cal so Daughtry doesn't murder us." I say interrupting their fit of laughter. Jack pouts, "See you two ladies later then." I shake my head and pull Atlas towards second period.

"Mm" she says smiling. "What?" I give her a confused expression. "Is he your boyfriend?" I burst out laughing. "Jack?" She nods. "Hell no."

The truth is, me and Jack have tried the relationship thing before and it ended up with an extremely awkward make out sesh that makes me cringe even thinking about it.

"No we're just best friends." She nods and smiles. "Why?" her eyes get wide, "Oh no reason, I was just wondering." Mhm sureee.

We reach the classroom and sit through yet another painfully boring class period.
