Jack can hardly contain himself with excitement as we drive back home. After we left the dress shop he insisted that we visit another extremely expensive store that sold vintage designer.

"I can't believe I found perfect condition vintage Louis in my size. This is the best day of my life." Jack gushes. I smile and nod while silently picking at the hem of the flannel that doesn't belong to me.

I find my thoughts drifting to the blue eyed boy. I wonder what he would think about the green dress. I imagine his cheeks would flush a deep cherry red and he would stutter adorably over his words.

"Tempest! Are you even listening to me?" I jump back to the present and Jack glances at me, irritated. "Sorry, I spaced out for a sec. What did you say?" His voice softens, "I asked you about your mom."

I shake my head and stare out the window. "I don't want to talk about her. Or Zach." He nods in understanding, "Ok, just let me know if you ever do want to talk about it." I give him a small smile, "ok." I am certain that day will never come. There is no need for Jack to stress over my shitty life too.

We pull through the McDonalds drive through and order a shit ton of greasy, delicious, fattening food before heading back home. "Oh my fucking god I am so hungry," I groan.

I look down at the bags of warm food in my lap. Small grease stains have already creeped their way up the side of the paper sacks. The scent of the sultry french fries is absolutely erotic and my mouth waters. I reach in the bag and pull out a crispy fry and stuff it into my mouth.

Jesus fucking Christ. Who knew food could taste so fucking good? "Ahem." Jack clears his throat and opens his mouth wide, looking at me expectantly. I giggle and shove a fry in his mouth. "Holy fuck," he moans, "I've never tasted anything so good in my life." I've never appreciated McDonald's more than this moment.

We manage to finish almost all of the fries as we pull into Jack's driveway. We both hop out of the car and race back to his room to finish our meal.

Twenty minutes and many chicken nuggets later Jack and I both lay on the floor of his room in a food coma. "Hey Temp?" Jack rolls over to face me. "Yeah?" I continue to examine the glow in the dark stars on his ceiling that have been there for as long as I can remember.

"I hate to be the bad guy here but we have school tomorrow, and it's already past midnight..." I sigh and push myself onto my feet. Jack stands too. "I'll wake you up at seven, sound good?" That's a bit earlier than I usually get up but I nod, "Yeah that's fine." We walk towards the door, "night." He yawns. "Night." I reply as I trudge back to the guest bedroom. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

"Tempest. Temp. TEMPEST!" Jack is practically screaming in my ear. "Five more minutes." I angrily grumble. "You said that the last four times I tried to wake you up. Get your ass up now. You only have thirty minutes to get ready."

I roll my eyes and huff before painfully leaving the comfort of my bed and heading to the kitchen. Alice is filling the dishwasher as I enter. "Tempest, you're finally up, cereal is in the cabinet and milk is in the fridge.

Oh, and I made some coffee if you would like some." I rub my eyes, "coffee please." I croak. She smiles and grabs me a mug, "Milk or sugar?" I shake my head. "No thanks." Alice raises her eyebrows and hands me the mug. "Oh before I forget, I have some clothes that you can look through if you'd like."

I smile at her, "Me and Jack picked some up at the mall yesterday. Thanks though." She winks at me and replies, "anytime" before disappearing into her bedroom.

I trudge back to my bedroom and slip into the guest bathroom to take a quick shower. My shower lasts longer than I anticipated so I rush to get dressed, pulling on some thigh high fishnets I had forgotten to take out of my gym bag a while back, then slipping on the black and red skirt I picked out yesterday.

I then stuff my arms into a graphic t-shirt, (also purchased yesterday), and pull my hair into a messy bun on top of my head. I hear Jack honk from the driveway as I finish brushing my teeth.

He continues honking obnoxiously as I grab my bag and run out the door. "Jeez took you long enough." I roll my eyes at him, "You need to learn patience." He glares at me, "And you need to learn punctuality." We both laugh at our childish banter and set off to my least favorite place on earth. School.
