Astrid's Father is mentioned but not properly named in the DreamWorks Dragons franchise. He and his wife are finally seen in the third film.

Kaitlin would walk next to her mother. Their hands tightly wrapped around each other as Astrid would lead her daughter through the crowd of Vikings rushing to get someplace or another.
"Mum, Where are we going?" Kaitlin would ask looking around. "We're going to see my parents. Your nan and pop!" Astrid would say smiling as she picked up Kaitlin and held her on her hip as she used her free hand to knock on the door.
"Who is it?" A male voice would say and Astrid shakes her head. "It's me father, I have also brought company" Astrid's father would throw open the door beaming wide. Before getting pushed aside by a smaller woman. "Oh come now, We knew she was coming stop with this crazy who is there" She woman would say huffing.
"You can't be too careful" The man, Astrid's father would say rolling his eyes. "You act like my mummy, When someone comes around for a surpise visit she says who dere wif her axe in hand" Kaitlin would say looking at them. "Oh is this the baby you and Hiccup have finally had?" The woman would say while the man would be proud. "Knew you took something from this old man"
"Yes, This is Kaitlin mother" Astrid would say and push her towards the parents. "Aww isn't she cute" Astrid's mother would say bending down and giving Kaitlin a hug. "I am not cute! I will be the best warrior of dem all!" She would say grinning. "Oh Thor not another one" Astrid's mother would say sighing. Astrid's father would pick up the young girl and smile widely. "How about after lunch we shall go practice axe throwing" He would whisper. "YEAH!" Kaitlin would yell happily throwing her hands up in the air. "Oh no, you don't. You are not giving an axe to this child I made the mistake of letting you give Astrid an axe younger than her and I will not make it again!" Astrid's mother would say to the father.
