(FLASHBACK 4)
(Y/n Pov)
After talking to the High Baron, we walk into the courtyard for a moment of peace. As we walk outside, I notice Vax grabs his chest in pain. "Vax?" "(sigh) She's here." And I turn to see the others looking at a very tall slender caped woman with a porcelain mask. 'So that's the Raven Queen.' Vax walks down and stands in front of her and she places bar hands on his shoulders. Percy tries to step in between the two but his muscles tense. I then hear a calm her chilling voice of a woman in my head.
"You have done well, My Champion. The String of Destiny has tugged in your wake, and even this victory culminates with the crosses of the few fate touched souls. By your hand, your bravery, your sacrifice, you have ensured a future for all you know. All who have come to love you for what you have done. You may never know the importance of your time here, but take solace in the knowledge, and you will see the ripples of your actions carry out for many generations to come. My Vax'ildan...it is time. Say your goodbyes and come join my side."
Her hands then pull away from his shoulders and she stands there waiting. "W-we don't even...get a night together?" Scanlan asks. Keyleth begins to lightly cry, "It's not fair." Vex and Keyleth tried to make a deal with the Raven Queen to let him stay for a few more years but it had no avail. "With power comes a price." The Raven Queen states. I see Keyleth look to Vax with tears, "I'm not ready." "You are ready for your people." "Not without you." "I am so...very proud of you, and so grateful for everything you gave to me. You are going to be a strong and wise leader." She wipes her tears from her eyes though more fall to take their place. "I will find you. I promise...I will see you again." "I'll never be far away."
Vax then walks over to Grog, Scanlan, and Percy. "Boys, my brothers, I love you." "We love you too." Scanlan says. "Thank you for everything. If you want us to fight her, all you have to do is say Jenga and we will." We all get a mild chuckle out of his statement. "Maybe from the other side. Just for shits and giggles." Grog places a hand on Vax's shoulder. "Can I ask...are you afraid?" "(deep breath) I am going to go visit my mother, and I will see all of you again." He then turns to Percy. "I do not accept this." Percy says with anger in his voice. "I know, but I charge you to take good care of my sister and love her. And your friend Keyleth, love her as well, because she will need it. She will need friends." Percy lowers his head and nods. "Of course." Vax then turns his head back to Scanlan.
"(deep sigh) Thank you for trying" "Wish I could've done more." "You did...everything." Vax goes to Pike and kneels to her height. "Pickle......Pickle you showed me the way, and I know it doesn't look that way right now, but you absolutely did. You taught me purpose, Pickle. I know I will see you again." "Isn't there something we can do?" "Be there for them...You be there for them. You're the light in all of our lives." He stands up and walks to Vex and takes her hands. "I never had a greater friend than you. We have traveled a lot, but I have never had a greater friend." "(broken voice) I feel like she's taking part of me away." Vax wipes a tear from her eyes. "I will bring it with me to remind me of you." "I don't know how to live." "I will see you again....and I will tell our mother you said hello." "I love you...I don't accept this." "I am sorry."
Vex wraps him in a tight hug and cries more into his shoulder. "I'm gonna find you." He nods his head, and surprisingly he walks over to me. He places both his hands onto my shoulders and smiles. "Thank you for coming back, and for staying here. I know that each and everyone in this group we call a family are well capable of keeping themselves safe, but I charge you especially to make sure that it stays that way. I know that you, being a god, you have that ability. You've been a good friend to have, and I surely will miss you." I chuckle slightly and nod my head. "I'm gonna miss your depressed ass, Vax'ildan. But I will protect them, even if it's to my dying breath, I will keep them safe." He smiles and gives me a hug and I return it. After parting our hug, he walks back to Keyleth and gives her one last kiss before approaching The Raven Queen. As he approaches, he waves his hand and snowdrops slowly begin to grow back to us.
"Shit. Thank you...How lucky, I have been to have had all of you. How lucky indeed..." He then turns to the Raven Queen and enters the darkness of her cloak and is encased and fades, I blink, and all I see are feathers floating away in the wind. I lower my head and walk to the others close by. "If you all don't mind, I am going to return to Greyskull and...mourn...in my own way." They all nod and I take off running towards an opening and take flight in the form of a (Rathalos/Rathian). I give out a loud agonizing roar and then begin my flight to Greyskull Keep to mourn for the farewells of a close friend.
Some time had passed, but I finished my flight and arrived at Greyskull, I enter and am met with the staff and I wave them off and go to my quarters. I push the door open to my very dim lit room and slowly walk in and close the door behind me. I sit down in my chair next to the fireplace and point my finger to the fireplace. I shoot a little blue flame at the wood and start a fire, giving a little more lighting in the room. I then looked to see that there was an assortment of drinks next to the table, so I popped open a bottle of wine and poured a glass. I raised my glass to the fire "I'll see you again Vax." and I drink the whole glass. Shortly after, I stand up and go to the bed and fall asleep.
