"Marzia?" The door slowly creaked open, Felix sticking his head into the room. He spotted Marzia laying in her bed, a book in her hands. She had fallen asleep.
He quietly walked into the the room, carefully shutting the door behind him as to not wake her from her slumber. He leaned against the wall and stood gazing at her for a few minutes, and then walked over to her bedside, picking up the envelope he had left there what seemed so long ago. He opened it, and sat down, looking through the contents.
Pictures of him and his girlfriend.
Marzia and Felix smiled happily in each photo, and many silly ones were mixed in. Their pugs, Maya and Edgar were included as well.
Felix's eyes began to tear up. However, he could take it no longer when he pulled out small pieces of paper all paper clipped together.
They were from their first date.
When they first met, it was over the Internet. The first time they met in person, they were still extremely shy and used to writing instead of using their words. They had written notes on small pieces of paper and quietly passed them to each other, like best friends sharing secrets on those sacred pieces of paper.
They had kept the notes.
Felix cried. The tears flowed like a waterfall from his eyes, and he quickly put all the photos and notes away in fear they would get ruined. Vision blurred, he sealed the envelope and was about to stand up and put them back, but--
Arms wrapped around him from behind, a head nuzzling on his shoulder.
"It's okay."
He didn't have to turn his head to see who the person was. He knew it was her.
"...Thank you," he whispered.

His eyes opened. In his lap was the envelope, closed after being looked through. Had he only dreamed that moment?
Felix looked back at Marzia, and at the clock. He must have slept a great deal. Marzia was still asleep. She must have stayed up late, or have gotten little to none sleep and read in the morning, falling asleep thereafter. He stood up, placed the envelope back where it belonged, under the stack of books...?
There was one more on the pile, the book that had been in Marzia's lap when he first walked into the room. She also was no longer asleep in the sitting position, now comfortable on the bed.
Did she actually...
Felix smiled.
She did.
He leaned down and planted a small kiss on Marzia's sleeping forehead, and headed for the door.
"I'll come back tomorrow," he said with a small smile.A/N
