Chapter Seven

I started to feel sick around the same time Lizzie did. We both went to the cell block where the sick were being kept, which was terrifying. At any moment, someone could die without being noticed, and the majority of us would be too sick to fight back.

My fears came true in that one disastrous night. Glenn was dying, Lizzie was trying to pretty much negotiate with a walker... Needless to say, it wasn't pretty.

But, in the end, everything turned out okay.

Haha, no.

We had just gotten the medicine we needed, and by the next morning, we felt a lot better. Sure, we weren't completely healed, but we were able to walk around a bit and talk to people.

I had been catching up with Carl about what had been happening while I was sick. "Nothing too exciting." He had said, which I had a feeling was a lie.

We were sitting next to each other. I leaned my head on his shoulder.

I was just about to ask him a question when,

BOOM!

The entire prison shook. I looked at Carl, who had a combination of fear and confusion in his bright blue orbs.

We both stood up and ran outside, where everyone else was headed.

I felt my heart stop.

No.

No.

No.

A large group of people were standing outside of the fence. With a tank. And being lead by The Governor.

I looked at Carl, who grabbed my hand gently.

"Rick! We need to talk. You and me." The Governor said loudly.

Rick went to the other side of the fence.

The two men argued back and forth for a while as my dad handed out guns.

Long story short, The Governor had Hershel and Michonne, we had the prison. If we let him have the prison, he'd let us go. I'd not... Well... People would die.

Rick tried to negotiate with him, saying that we could all share the prison.

The Governor didn't exactly like that idea.

"Liar." He said before using Michonne's katana to kill Hershel.

Rick shot at The Governor. Bullets began to fly back and forth. I could hear the sound of Maggie and Beth crying.

Each side shot at each other. It was horrible.

Then... Walkers.

Eventually, we had no choice but to give up. We had to leave, I realized. The plan had been to get on the bus, but with all of the chaos I doubted that everyone would get on. I looked at Carl, who was still standing near me. I grabbed his hand. He pried me off of him before running off, probably to find Rick. I, unsure of what else to do, ran in search of Judy. If a walker of one of The Governor's people got ahold of her, she'd be unable to defend herself.

I made it to Judith just as Tyresse did. He picked up the small infant, and began dragging me along too.

"Wait!" I hissed.

"What?"

"I need to find my dad and-"

"Sierra, we need to go!" I paused before nodding. He was right. We couldn't just wait around to be killed. I ran behind him.

Moments later, we ran into Lizzie and Mika.

Great. I thought, looking at Lizzie. Just great.

The next morning, after camping out in the middle of the woods, we got up and began singing happy songs as the forest animals joined in.

Not really, we actually just complained and itched.

It's a surprisingly warm day. It has been about six months since we fled the farm. Carl and I are sitting outside of the house we have been staying at for the past couple of days. We're both sweating and swatting at mosquitoes.

"Mosquitoes... suck...Literally..." I say after a moment. Carl nods in agreement and angrily swats at another little bloodsucker buzzing around his face.

I giggle. "You look so stupid." I say, earning a bright blue glare. I giggle again. He still glares.

"Aww, come on, Carl, you know I'm just messing with you." I say, scooting a little closer and leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Nooooooo." He says pushing me away. "It's too hot." He says, pushing me away, yet smiling. I giggle a third time. Just then, Rick comes out of the house, yelling that we have to leave because of walkers approaching the house. I sigh. Always on the move.

I snapped out of my memories as we heard rustling nearby. Tyreese leaves the four of us alone, Lizzie holding Judith, while Mika and I had our guns.

Then, Judy began to cry. Lizzie covered the infant's mouth. I took a few steps forward. Mika gave me a scared look. I took a few more before gasping.

Carol!
