Born Again !!!!

Chapter 3

We entered the huge cafeteria of our hospital.
According to me, the two best places to relax in our hospital campus is:
1) the cafeteria
2) the doctor's common room

The food in our cafeteria is the best and tastes just like home cooked food.

and a note on the doctor's common room:
it looks very spacious and appointed, has everything that we need for relaxation, decorative as well.
Separate rooms are also allotted for the doctors working in the hospital and they can rest during their free times there.

Soon we sat in our favorite spot of the cafeteria, near the large open glass window that faces the lawn nearby.

Lexi went to the counter to buy us some snack and coffee.

She bought me my favorite cappuccino and a small packet of digestive biscuits along with a cup of black coffee for herself.

We sat there and discussed about the incident that happened before.
I told Lexi about the way Dr. Michael spoke to me and the suspicion that I had on him.

Then suddenly, one of our colleagues , Dr. John came and sat next to me.

"thought you would call me for company......." he said with a flirtatious smile.
"No! thank you Dr.John, we are good with what we have " Lexi smirked with an irritating voice.

Dr. John is a good looking , handsome and a well behaved man , but Lexi hated him (it was because she had a secret crush on him before he proposed me......... but I told him I was not interested **).

"Please have some John" with these words I slided the biscuit packet towards him .

"Thank you Illa " he said with a smile and took a bite of the biscuit and continued "may I know what you guys were talking about , I can help you if you want anything........" he spoke while eating the biscuit.

"Your help is the least required here Dr. John, so please leave " she said with the same irritating voice

"Lexi, be polite my girl........." I said and told John about my conversation with Dr. Michael.

He suddenly stopped me and asked "did he tell you that our chief doctor told him your name????" He asked with an exclamation in his voice.

"Yes" I said

"Don't be kidding Illa . I was there the whole time when the chief was talking to Dr. Michael and he never mentioned your name " he said

"Are you sure?????" I asked him with a mixture of shock and confusion in my voice.

"I am damn sure about it Illa , our chief never mentioned anything about you" He said with an assurance in his tone.

"Then how come he knew your name la ????" Lexi asked with a suspicion.

Suddenly we were interrupted by a familiar voice and yes it was Sherley, my assistant.

"Mam the patients are waiting for you" she said.

"Ok then we'll discuss it later. Don't think more about this la . May be he is lying." Lexi said with a sarcastic look on her face.

When John was about to defend himself, I got up from my chair and said "Ok I'll talk to you guys later" .
With that I started to follow Sherley to my cabin.

A lot of questions were running inside my mind and I couldn't help it.
But once I started seeing the patients, I totally forgot about it.

It was a really busy day. I had to treat 2 autistic kids, a patient with hemiplegia and 3 more kids with developmental issues.

Finally, at the end of the day I checked my watch and it was 6:20 already.
As I had a tight schedule, I did not go to the cafeteria for lunch. Instead I had it in my cabin itself.

Soon I packed my things and when I was about to leave Sherley stopped me.

"Mam Dr. Michal wants to see you immediately"she said.

That was when I realized what  happened in the morning and wondered why he called me.

So I immediately left my things on the table and slowly walked towards our new Dean's room...........
