Suzy overheard the sounds of cracking and yielding behind her. Her senses heightened feeling another presence. Turning back swiftly, her mouth dropped, watching at a six-foot-tall handsome red-haired man with amazing grey eyes glistening with a silver lining. Looking around she realised the deer was gone. It was like a quick miracle.
'Mr. Deer?' She called out looking at the man in front of her. 'Who are you? Where's the injured deer?'
'You're looking at him, Missy,' Roy smirked stepping toward her.
Suzy backed away, 'No way, you're lying; you probably carried him out of here.'
Gold laughed, 'Okay, I give her a bonus I like her. She's the one, Roy.' He ignored his deer's jokey thought and smirked, 'Honestly if I did, you would have seen me carrying him away.'
'Then you're a freaking magician!' Suzy hollered pointing at him.
Roy chuckled and Gold couldn't take it anymore as he giggled, a bit hardened too and, explained seriously, 'The deer, Gold and I are one, Missy.'
'How is that possible?' Suzy questioned shockingly.
Roy answered, 'Welcome to the Shifter's World. You're also a shifter, don't you know that.'
'Me? A shift what?' Suzy asked surprisingly.
'A shifter. Gold sensed the presence of a bear's spirit in you. Right now, you're standing on a battlefield because we're the deer shifters are at war with your bear shifters. I am the Alpha Deer, Roy, of the deer shifters' clan,' Roy explained.
Suzy laughed hysterically, 'This is bullshit and you're freaking crazy, man.'
'We should show you since you don't believe us,' Roy and Gold spoke at once; a bit irritated by her.
Immediately, Suzy watched their transformation. The cracking of limbs and skin stretched being covered with a golden cream fur as he stood upon four legs. Roy shifted into his deer form and his wound was healed showing off a small scar.
About to fall, 'It's really you!' she blurted out.
Suzy watched him changed back into his human form catching her in his arms, securely.
'See what I was telling you,' Roy answered looking at her shocked speechless face as she passed out.
Gold chuckled, 'I like her, Roy. Maybe we can forget about the war against Dakota and Tyler and keep her for our pleasure.'
Roy shook his head, 'No, she's the key to settling down our grudges let's wait and see what Mother Nature or the Animal Spirit World has in store for us all. Prophecy will prevail, Gold, we have to fight the king of the forest' and his deer sighed.
He looked at the woman in his arms and smiled carrying her bridal style into the nearby cave. He used this cave as a hideout. It was also a tunnel leading to his secret mansion and sanctuary for his deer shifters. Roy sat down resting his back against the wall cuddling her in his thick arms as she snuggled against him. He was a bit surprised by her actions. It softened his heart with feelings for her and Gold couldn't be bothered by it because he felt the same way.
'Even though she's not one of us, don't lose her, Roy. Friendship with her will fill the void in our broken hearts. She remains me of Rosa, our first love,' Gold thought.
Roy hasn't forgotten about her after all these years, he frowned, 'She's gone from our lives now, Gold. She's not coming back to us' and he wept as his tears fell onto Suzy's cheeks.
Suzy had awakened lightly by the liquid on her face. Roy sensed her breathing started to get back to normal. Gold and he knew she was slowly waking up. He shifted into his deer form and thought, 'She'll probably think it was a dream.'
Gold laughed, 'Yeah right, after how we explain it to her, I doubt it' and pretended to sleep.
